Managed a couple of cup goals I see. Nice one Ol. Back to 5th choice striker for the league game as unused sub though.

Interestingly, L P have picked up points since he’s been out the side and dragged themselves off the bottom. Must just be an anomaly though ! 👀

“You know when you’re at Sheffield United or Forest and you’re playing Manchester City away and you put 19 men behind the ball and try to nick a 0-0?”

🤣

Would have him back in a heart beat get him back on loan for the rest of the season
If you got him and Brereton-Diaz in the JTW, you could slap a P next to our name in the league.

Unfortunately you could probably also slap a R next to it with a similar line up.

That’s the problem most Champ teams face right now!

That is the trouble now unless you have mega money and invest it wisely you are onto a loser.

But I believe we have a far more solid core of players than we had the last time we went up.

If we kept hold of all our good players (not a given even if promoted), added a couple of top champ players eg Josh Sargent and BBD, and replaced our current loans with similar or better, you’d have to believe we’d be in a position next year to be competitive in the Prem. We’d still be overwhelming favourites to be bottom 3 but I’d expect us to at least go down swinging. TBH I would settle for that after the last two Prem seasons.

I think any team that goes up is likely to have an R next to the name

However with wilder and a decent war chest I'd fancy us to have a proper go at it BBD is a proper wilder player

Is BBD one of those too good for the Championship but not good enough for the PL type of players? I'd bet Souttar is too, Anel and Souza also both fall into that camp after last season until they prove otherwise.

That's the problem when promoted, the gap is massive, especially at the top of the field.

You'd expect Cooper to be good enough, Burrows probably, Davies if he stays fit, Arblaster if he gets back to full fitness and Souza and Anel would have to be taken on trust. Apart from them who else of the current squad, Peck possibly, Seriki possibly but thats about it.

Hamer, possibly. O’Hare maybe - but he’ll be up against bigger, fitter, faster players. And then you’ve got to wonder who’ll score the goals and how we’ll score enough to stay up. Campbell might get a few, but he’ll have to contribute more overall. Brewster if he stays fit?

We’d need to spend up to £200m to stand any chance.

And I’d like us to actually try to win a few games, and to have a proper strategy for how we’re going to play, rather than just defend for 87 minutes and try to nick one on the break.

I think if you put those eplayers in a Brentford/Everton they would do well

No players did well in the team we were last season look at Southampton this year I'd sign half there players no problem

Is Soithamptons best half and our best half cimbined good enoigh to stay up? I severely doubt it. I dont see where the goals come from. If you added 2 good strikers a top centre mid and centre half to the mix then maybe.

Thing is that the side needed to go up is very different to the side needed to stay up. I don't think we have played to our potential for very many games, parts of games certainly, but all games rarely. Yet we still beat Oxford, Pigs and Millwall without being free flowing and being stuck in 2nd gear. We are not going to be able to do that if we went up with the aim of staying up. We would need to be as solid as we are now at the back and be able to grab the fewer chances up top. When it clicks by god someone is going to get a kicking but we don't seem able to upshift for long.

Pleasing

As long as McBurnie was open to it, Wilder was always going to be interested

I like to think he'd choose us over Burnley

If we get him and Brereton back together I'm not even too concerned if we miss the top 2, because we'll win the play offs

An abject failure in Spain. No dressing it up. Was first choice for a while. LP rooted to bottom. Was then benched often unused sub. LP went on winning streak.

Coincidence ??

Looks like he is available for loan after a few short months based on the above. Shock !!!

Slow weak and just not very good at his job. 0 league goals once again so far this year !!!!

Perfect fit eh Tufty ?😂😂😂😂.

Huge mistake if there is indeed anything in this.

It does fit with Wilder's comments about wanting someone who has the experience of a promotion push. McB also knows the club and Wilder and some of the players.
I can't remember how well he linked up with BBD? I think I have successfully erased a lot of last season from my memory :).
It also helps with the defending at corners now Souttar isn't available.

Win what playoff, you do know that we would still lose playoff final even if we played against a United reserve team

It is what it is, more chance of Israel and Palestine deciding to be friends than us win a playoff final

Another injury prone plodder. No thanks. We're light up front but surely we need to set our sights a bit higher?
Him or our friend Barnes from Norwich? I know which one I’d pick..

If I was him I’d at least stay at Las Palmas for the full season, he’s still getting on the bench so not completely out of the first team plans.

Nixon working really hard on those rumours again. Feel like he only has one side of A4 notes to last the year.
