A superb half volley by Hamer today, just glad Plymouth chose to kick the 'wring way round' today so the Kop got a perfect view of it. The goal of the season so far. I can't remember when I saw such a good volley/half volley, Mike Lake could.strike a ball well.

What a corker.

Michael Brown, George Baldock and one from the early memory banks - stood on the terrace railings, think it was 70's promotion year? kicking towards the kop, cross from the left, Tony Currie volley from just outside the area that flew in and stuck between the stanchion and the netting. Time stood still, think it was v Watford 3-0?

Currie didn't score against Watford. Woodward (pen) and Reece 2 were the scorers

Going back to Mike Lake. What a footballer he was for us for a brief while. Just like his brother injury hampered what should’ve been his finest years.
I was talking to him earlier this year ( work at same company) he still has very fond memories of his time at The Lane , nice bloke ⚔️

Beattie scored a volley from a corner once, think it was against Bristol City iirc
