How’s Liverpool’s buy-back clause looking?

To say it’s been a disaster of epic proportions for everyone is an understatement. 5 goals in 90 odd appearances. Campbell has already bettered that and cost nowt. £20 odd million and whatever else in wages and medical bills pissed away.

Probably serves us right for paying that based on potential and a good couple of months at Swansea. We were never in a position to do that.

We signed him as a future England star. I wonder where he’ll end up when we release him.
Port Vale/ Swindon?

Well im one who still believes he will do well for us this season, at the moment i think he tries too hard and doesnt let it come naturally, once he gains some confidence the performances will come, wilder wouldnt persevere if the tools were not there , he must be showing it in training and as ive pinned my hopes to the mast i will rejoice when he finally comes good.

He played plenty of games in that 1st season and he lacked basictactical knowledge, technical ability etc. I think this has been the worst case scenario outcome for him but I also think the Swansea stuff was fools gold
And unfortunately we foolishly paid all our available gold (not his fault).
Signing him for that fee on those wages for FIVE years ...
Plus losing JoC
And Lunny being a twat
relegated us

We'll never get away from the negative connotations of Brewster ,
So the end of his contract and a fond farewell can't come soon enough,
For club & player.

He needs a fresh start somewhere else and we need to draw a line under a very unfortunate experience.

He's not good enough to play for Sheffield United.

This became apparent during the two Championship seasons when Heckingbottom was manager.

The fact we're still having these conversations over three years down the line is insane.

How long is it going to take for the penny to drop for some people?

He's not turning the corner. He's not going to come good. He's not going to get that one goal and suddenly go on a scoring spree.

It's over. It's done.

Forget about it and move on.

There's always one as they say.

Wilder isn't persevering with Brewster, he's got absolutely no other choice...

He might be a popular figure in the Club but the lad is not a good footballer. The facts back that up......4 goals in 82 appearances.....

Agreed 100%….paying £23 million does not mean that there is a good player somewhere in him. People need to stop trying to use that to justify him. His injuries have not helped, but his time is almost up with us new. It was a dreadful signing.

Unless he can play nearly every game left this season and bang in 15 goals…. he’ll not be here next season.

Great point…. Let’s not forget, we are a striker short because the Prince would not or could not fund it at the end of the August transfer window.

He's our Jordan Ibe.

The difference is, unlike Bournemouth, we couldn't afford for him to be a flop.

Attacking options better than bringing on Brewster for 20 minutes:

Sam McCallum as a left winger
Ryan Oné
Andre Brooks
Sticking O’Hare on the left and playing Tom Davies as a third midfielder
Louis Marsh
Playing with ten men
A horse with no legs
Oli Burke

That cameo today, even by his historically awful standards, was absolutely rancid. Not saying we would’ve scored but he certainly played his part in wiping out any chance of us pushing on for a winner.

And let’s not forget, even when he DOES do the basics of being able to control a ball and move it on, he NEVER looks like scoring, ever.

Holy shit, what an absolute nuclear bomb of a fuck up this signing was.

Talk about a fork in the road, Brentford signed Ivan Toney for £10m the same summer we bought this kid.

Best for all parties if he moves on in the summer. Objectively a fucking disasterous signing.

Even this latest niggle, it’s been weeks out injured. So it’s back to square one of being unfit, not starting a run of games, not being up to speed, not developing an understanding with team mates. Rinse and repeat. And repeat.

Part of me still believe if he could play week in week out for a few months, he could be a perfectly decent Championship player. No part of me believes he’s able to keep fit to do so.

Probably end up in Saudi next, can’t see anyone taking a punt on him who’d be willing to offer any decent wages.

Marsh could have been out on loan somewhere and should have been if he was this clearly behind Brewster

lol. What would we have had when he leaves?

He needs a new start elsewhere. Because you’d have to be absolutely insane to offer him a new deal. Like.. smearing shit all over the walls level of insane.
Someone will be along to suggest a pay as play arrangement in a minute

Marsh should be infront of him. But Wilder in his infinite wisdom keeps on playing him or bringing him on, I guess he's still trying to convince himself of the price tag he paid for him, but let's face it Wilder's patience must be wearing thin now surely.

Did it get delivered first time or did the postman need 50 attempts to get it in the letter box??

I live in the States and don't have a letter box, I have a mailbox at the bottom of the drive. The postie, nice chap that he is brought it to the door, rung the bell and hey presto, one new Brewdog shirt. 2 weeks from China, £12 delivered, marvelous 👍

Never ceases to amaze me how many of our fans are creaming themselves over one players failings.

The fact that One came on first shows how unready Brewster is to play, but hey, pile on anyway.
I’d argue he’s had more patience from our fanbase than most.He is no better than Gribic who was universally criticised after a 6 month rotten spell.RB has give us no return in 5 years.

Not Brewsters best game, but he had some moments and tried to do what he was brought on for. Good to see him back after a few weeks out

He was terrible today. No idea what he was trying to do and everytime he runs he just looks injured!

Stuck with him until end of the season though and as he is such a well liked character, I guess Wilder is trying to manage him through the season which I can only agree with.

And for a club with our modest resources , those kind of decisions are why dem Bees are top half PL and we are not.
Weren't we after Ollie Watkins at one stage as well ?
Plus the kind of luck that gets Hendo to smash JoC in training.
Sliding doors.

Yeh we were after him for about £20 million but Villa came in and outbid us....think they offered £28 million rising to £33 million.
At the time I thought Watkins was good but he's not that good.

Get him out on loan in January, he's not going to get a new contract in the summer, so get him off the wage bill as soon as. He's been unlucky with injuries and I'm sure he is a lovely lad but it's never going to happen for him at Sheffield United. If he sighs a pre-contract agreement in January with another team with a view to joining them as a free agent in the summer, I'd be inclined for a mutual termination and let them have him for free in January.

They were always proactive in the market and willing to take a chance on lower league talent at bigger prices.

We have never been a team that has invested that kind of money on lower league team players.
