[NOT HAPPENING] WARNOCK TO THE GRUNTERS??

I was a big Warnock fan, however never listen to anything that comes out of his mouth. He would take the job without considering anyone's feelings including his own family.

I can't see it.

NW is not only on record as a big United fan, he also made that famous joke about getting them relegated. The immense negative supporter reaction the Wednesday Board would get appointing him will stop them doing it, I would think.

Well, he's been telling the nation this morning how they are the bigger club in the city and how much their fans respect him.

Surely he's finally buggered off to his tractor by now. Or are we in "one last job" territory yet again?

I don't believe he would ever do that.

Frankly, I don't give a toss who they get, when will clubs ever learn? This weekend saw another 3 useless tossers get the boot (make that four, Coyle has just got the sack at Wigan). As ever, they cited the few highlights in their miserable careers as managers (Flitcroft 'I saved Barnsley from relegation last year' Big Deal. Jones 'got Wendy promotion' No. Try the judge in Ched's case.)

A big pay-off looms, a few months 'gardening leave' and some other suckers will take them on.

It was the jury, not the judge.

I am a bit puzzled as to who you think clubs should appoint other than experienced managers who have both successes and failures on their CV's. You will be hard put to find a manager with just successes and going for the completely untried doesn't usually (Weir) go well.

Thought any mention of the Ched case would attract you, Darren!

Well 30-odd percent win ratio counts as 'success' as a football manager.

My point was that, how long are clubs going to keep repeating the madness that's got them where they are i.e. managers? It doesn't work. Time for a fresh look at things.

Hear, hear Grafikhaus!

Darren, I know its nihilist but because Grafikhaus call's them all 'losers', it doesn't necessarily mean that he is advocating any particular recruitment policy.

Apart from raw recruits straight out of school making their debuts, everyone involved in football at all levels below the top few of the Premiership is by definition a loser or 'tosser' if you like.

By and large they are uneducated in anything outside the boring mediocrity of the British game and therefore unable to do anything original or creative.

By as I posted elsewhere, by definition there will be more losers than winners in football. If we count promotion, winning the league or a cup or qualifying for Europe as success, a maximum of 17 teams out of 92 can be successful in any season, which leaves 75 out of 92 managers "failing" to a greater or lesser degree.

Whatever system you have, the vast majority of managers will have far more mediocrity and failure on their CV's than successess. It's the nature of the beast.

Warnock is completely self obsessed and will play up to any set of supporters who pay him any attention.

Massive Blade my arse, every team he has been to since has the best set of lads he's ever worked with, the best set of fans, Blah, Blah, Blah. The man is like a very boring cracked record.

If he wants to go to Wednesday so what, nothing would surprise me.

Would not surprise me if he went to them.

Well yes exactly Darren and the weird experiment with a seemingly well-qualified debutant went wrong.

Grafikhaus calls for a 'fresh look at things'. Now that possibly suggests all sorts of alternatives, 'management by committee'? Selection by the supporters through plebiscite? neither of which sound practical.

For me English football at our level is just about unintelligent, uneducated players becoming managers and constantly repeating the mistakes of their forebears. Until British players receive an acceptable general education it won't change at our level and the best players will be their cleverer foreign counterparts.

Can anybody provide a link to the story where Warnock says he wants to manage Wednesday because I'm struggling to find it?

Or are people just taking the opportunity to slag off a Blades Legend because the Press have linked him with another job that he hasn't been offered and wouldn't do anyway.

Warnock and Wednesday are welcome to each other, a match made in heaven!

if he is offered the Pig job he will take it.

I could see him taking the job. Just to piss off McCabe. If he failed he could say that it was too late to do anything blah blah.

But my point is that whatever system you use, the losers will always vastly outnumber the winners. G's complaints is that managers who are on balance "failures", keep getting appointed. However you appoint managers and whether they are individual or collective that will always be the case.

Even if all managers have Ph.D's you will still get 75 of them failing every season.

Constant slagging off of the only two managers who've given us any success over the last 35 years.
I can't imagine there's any other club where so many fans have such hatred towards their finest servants.
Personal insults and invented reasons to vent spleens. It's the "Blades Way" for some people.

Could not give a flying fuck what uncle Col does , the grunters do , or what that club does , or who they employ to manage that shithole of a club , not being disrespectful to uncle Col cause he was good while he was here , but fuck them fuck them all . Can almost here them grunting for the exciting , passion filled football smeghead gave them , was'nt he one of the favourites as well . See the queue of clubs for that stunt since he was fired . Twats the lot of them ,maybe I'm on the wrong thread . U.T.B F.T.P.

If he took the job he would officially become the most hated man in Sheffield.

I care, because he's one of the best, if not the best manager we've had in about 45 years. I don't want Wednesday to employ a good manager.

Sir Dave in my opion beats uncle Col hands down , and with a fraction of the money , won't dis uncle col on his time here , just the twat he made of himself at every club after , 18 months at QPR apart . Even then he took Kenny .

.....other than referring to him as Uncle Col? :)

It's possible that he's made a twat of himself throughout his career, "7 promotions apart".

If he did take the Pig job, and was unlucky enough to still be in charge of them for a game at BDTBL, I wonder if he'd still kiss the badge? Topped to the brim with Bladey Bladeness that he is...

I personally care little if he did go there, other than be concerned that he'd get the sorry sack of shit that they are away from relegation. But it would prove beyond doubt that he is the biggest phoney around.
