I’m interested in that as I’m meeting my brother off his train and it’s handy from the station. Do you have to be signed in?
No mate, just pay 50p each on the door. Beer is cheap as chips. It will be rammed though so get in early. They have loads of staff on duty every match day so large queues go down quickly.

I really enjoy a pre match pint or three, but given the kick off time, is it crazy to suggest that we don’t have to start drinking at our usual logical drinking time ahead of the game? Perhaps look forward to a few afterwards?

Not sure I can face a pint at 10 am, after a Saturday night.

Edit : yes it’s crazy. Ignore me 😂

Why not do both? If you don’t fancy a beer that early have a brew or something. If you fancy getting absolutely smashed, starting at 5am (or continuing through the night) then that’s grand as well. As long as people aren’t a dickhead with it then it’s all good.

Most normal games I’m into the drinking zone approx 2 hours before the game for a few pre match pints. Bigger games I’ll probably get in earlier, have some food and beers.

1230 kick off, so it’s not an unreasonable thing to start having a few drinks at 10am.

There will also be post match drinks as well. That’s a given but the pre match drinks are a nice livener to get you lubricated

Having thought more about it, rather than spread people around lots of pubs, refusing permission to places like the beer engine to open means that places like Panenka will be rammed. It’s busy in there usually but for games with higher attendances like in the Premier League it was always busy (though they’ve got more staff in this season). So it’ll be even busier whereas other places lose out

The policing of football has improved no end over the last 30 years and so has the behaviour of fans, but its games like the pigs game that the police revert back. Most fans have no intent to cause trouble whether it’s Walsall or Wednesday.

Beer Engine not opening early.

Brothers' Arms opening from 10:30am.

FFS. Red sauce and mayo on chips.? Surely it's one or the other, or better still, gravy—bloody hipster influence.

is that for every home game pay 50p on door was once told members only even on match days

Every home game is pay 50p. I'm not a member and I don't go in enough to justify the membership which I think is £15 or £20. If you go in there quite often then it's decent value. Live sports. TVs in the tap room and a large screen and projector in the concert room. Has a pool table. Also has 3 bars and a snooker room with a couple of tables.
Toilets usually stink a bit though, but what do you expect from a working mens club? 😂

For those up our neck of the woods...
