I agree but I’d be tempted to give this current team and formation at least the next home game. Possibly with the exception of dropping o’hare for someone.Something must change up front and it definitely involves resting O'Hare.
It might involve a change of position for Hamer and/or
the introduction of Campbell or Brewster or
Brooks & JRS both starting.
But Wilder can't keep playing the same relatively unproductive attack.
Without the points deduction we’d only be a couple of points off top spot and defensively we’re looking excellent. The front players are a talented bunch who are direct, want to take their man, and happy to shoot early. These are all excellent traits and a big improvement from where we were. I still think we’ll click and start to create and score more - JRS and Brooks are both due a goal or two. We’re in the top six and haven’t lost, so there’s an argument for not fixing something that isn’t broke.
That said, it is disappointing / surprising we’re not creating more chances. I’d like to see Burrows further up the pitch for a half - either if we push Hamer more centrally or if we switch to a 5.
I’m happy we’ve shifted to a 4 but for certain games or in mid-game, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a 5. The things stopping us were a lack of a good RWB and LCH - both of which seem like we may have solved by Seriki’s progress and Anel’s switch to the left. I’m not advocating going back to a 5 full time. But if we want to switch things up then I could see this working.
