Something must change up front and it definitely involves resting O'Hare.
It might involve a change of position for Hamer and/or
the introduction of Campbell or Brewster or
Brooks & JRS both starting.
But Wilder can't keep playing the same relatively unproductive attack.
I agree but I’d be tempted to give this current team and formation at least the next home game. Possibly with the exception of dropping o’hare for someone.

Without the points deduction we’d only be a couple of points off top spot and defensively we’re looking excellent. The front players are a talented bunch who are direct, want to take their man, and happy to shoot early. These are all excellent traits and a big improvement from where we were. I still think we’ll click and start to create and score more - JRS and Brooks are both due a goal or two. We’re in the top six and haven’t lost, so there’s an argument for not fixing something that isn’t broke.

That said, it is disappointing / surprising we’re not creating more chances. I’d like to see Burrows further up the pitch for a half - either if we push Hamer more centrally or if we switch to a 5.

I’m happy we’ve shifted to a 4 but for certain games or in mid-game, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a 5. The things stopping us were a lack of a good RWB and LCH - both of which seem like we may have solved by Seriki’s progress and Anel’s switch to the left. I’m not advocating going back to a 5 full time. But if we want to switch things up then I could see this working.

Would probably take £15m to sign them both. I'm sure both clubs would be open to offers, but under the Prince we're not going to have the funds.

I just hope Leicester don't consider taking Souttar back in Jan!
Not sure Chelsea would let Gilchrist go...he's been there since he was a fetus. I think he's still aiming for their first team too.
Souttar on the other hand I think there could definitely be a chance...I reckon he would be up for it, he's loving showing what he can do again. Wilder already hinted at the possibility 🤔.
All depends on how much Leicester want & what we could scrape together. More like end of season business though

If we were talking about an ordinary club, I'd agree... but Chelsea love to sell and academy product as they count as 100% profit for FFP regs.
In any case, as much as I rate Gilchrist I'm not sure Chelsea will see him as their next RB or CB.

No chance he plays for Chelsea - they are looking for 'World Elite Players' - but you have to say him and Burrows and Souttar have fitted in so so well at United.

Gilchrist- grit/ determination and attitude - just a joy to watch.

Burrows- his touch and movement of the ball - just a joy to watch.

Souttar - so far has been off the scale - both ends of the pitch - just a joy to watch

Complimented with our old Anel back- just a joy to watch.

The team as a whole have been good so far but the defence have been off the scale brilliant - we look very safe - especially with Cooper Man in goal.

Wilder and his team deserve massive praise for assembling this team so quickly- we might not go up (who cares) - but we are certainly top half and thats a 'well done to all'

All we need is a goal scorer,

stop panicking

Burnley drew at oxford 0-0 do they need 3 strikers urgently , sunderland lost west brom were dog shit

get worried when we dont dominate possesion or dont have more touches in the box and attempts

we like every club need the odd deflection ,

Can’t believe you don’t think Cooper is a joy to watch😂

Agree…..the defense and goalie are very very impressive, early days but potentially the best we’ve had in decades.

Even when the defence are under pressure we never look like conceding and even when the opposition have a corner I always feel relaxed.

Just need to sort out the attack conundrum because we over rely on individual brilliance to create chances or score goals but at least we have a few options to try out.

We have 9 players from whom to select the attacking 4 , from the start , or at any stage in a game :
Moore Campbell O'Hare Brewster Brooks Hamer JRS Seriki plus Burrows if you put McCallum at LB.
It can't have escaped Wilder's notice that we've produced few clear chances over the last 3 games despite the quality of our general play.
He actually admitted we need to be better in the final third.
O'Hare definitely needs a rest and Moore might function better with a recognised striker or even a winger alongside.
If he doesn't , hook him at HT

Decades? 2018-2020 defence?

I agree with all of those assessments , and would add to them the fact that all of them are performing with the almost indefinable quality which is that of performing like that of being proper Blades players , the likes of which our fans have appreciated down the years.

Given the rag tag and bobtail approach to last season’s recruitment coupled with the sad decline and sometimes total surrender of some of our most established players , this has come as a great but very welcome surprise to me .

Whatever the outcome of this season may be , I for one am just happy to see us playing once again with the combination of determination , organisation and no lack of skill which other Blades teams from the past have provided us with.

Well said 👍

I'm not sure Gus coming inside all the time on his right foot is helping us get the best out of Burrows' attacking abilities. He has shown in the past what a good delivery he can provide (which would improve Moore's threat levels) but Gus often tries a killer ball before Burrows gets up alongside him to develop those opportunities.

Don't get me wrong, Gus is clearly our most potent attacking weapon but I think if he was a wee bit more patient at times - we could work better crossing opportunities from the left and I'm sure the big man would benefit.

i think thats a good point youve made there about hamer coming back inside from his position out left personally dont like hamer out there anyway would much sooner see him more central hes had to go out there to accomodate o'hare but that needs a rethink imo o'hare just not doing it just now

Decades? 2019/20 season 38 goals conceded in the Premier league.

I Think Burrows Would Excell With Rak Sakyi/Brooks Linking With Him

What a signing this guy is! The pass to Moore was not only exquisite but actually orchestrated by him, he wanted to pass it sooner but Moore was static and he told him to get a move on, next thing he’s playing an inch perfect pass.

His decision making is great as well, doesn’t panic if no option available and rarely, if ever, gives the ball away.

Him and Cooper are top top signings, if Souttar was a transfer and not a loan he’d be in the same bracket.

Much better defender than he was advertised as at Peterborough

The cross he put in was excellent as well - it was always going to be turned in by someone

Still a bit of an unsung hero. He makes a massive difference to the side, fantastic.
