Ironside has joined FC Halifax until January 5th. Sensible move for both player and club - he's now 6th choice centre forward at best and desperately needs to start scoring goals at a professional level. Halifax are at home to rock-bottom Hyde this evening so hopefully the signing will have gone through in time for him to play.
I've had a soft spot for the Shaymen since the days of Premier Manager 2 - they're having a Jekyll and Hyde season - unbeaten at home but winless away; that said, they're doing better in their first season back at Conference level than Danny Higginbotham's Chester, who ran away with the Conference North title last season but are struggling this year.

Skrill Premier club FC Halifax Town have taken another promising young player on loan.
Manager Neil Aspin has brought in 20-year-old striker Joe Ironside from Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United on loan until January 5th 2014.
A powerful striker, who excels in aerial combat, progressed well in the first-team last term making a number of cameo appearances from the bench, culminating in a start in the play-off semi-final second leg at Yeovil Town.
Ironside agreed a new two and a half year professional contract with the club after making a total of sixteen appearances in the senior side.
