Pre-match for Bladocks minute applause and for the first half hour our fans gave a decent account of themselves, but after that we were completely outsung by Leeds fans, long before they scored their first. I was really shocked how few Blades around me were interested in giving vocal support.

At this point I have to ask... do we need to have rolling loyalty points system where points fall off after 6/7 years? I feel like there's too much bias in the current loyalty system towards the older fans. Our loyalty points scheme has been going for a long time now and it feels like a lot of older Blades have racked up the loyalty points thanks to simply being older and following us longer, but they're now at an age where they've not got the desire/energy to sing for the team which is making our fans a bit of a laughing stock.

Not many away fans will outsing elland road, never mind us, seen more life in a corpse than us home and away these days, shite generic songs and that's it. I'll be stood at boro on Wednesday night wondering how much this has changed in My 20 years away following,, it will be pathetic.

Tonight was a hundred times better than Norwich.

Our vocal support only tailed off into the second half after we'd been on the back foot for so long and gone a goal behind.

Our away support isn't consistently great but tonight is a strange one to suddenly voice concern compared to some.

You only have to go back to Spring and we had fans of clubs of the stature of Everton and Newcastle praising our support.

Mebbe we should fuck off loyalty points altogether and have volume points instead? I like the idea that old fellers can't sing though, nice one
Some older Blades fans can and do sing , but it's understandable that the over 60s in general aren't going to be as lively as they used to be.
Just trying to find a more equitable solution that lets the teens and early 20s have a fairer crack at getting a ticket, the loyalty scheme started in 06/07, 18 years without any points falling off seems very harsh on younger fans.

majority of away games don't go to general sale so it doesn't stop the age group you mention going to games.e.g. Blackburn away now on general salebut not sold out as aren't Boro or Bristol City( although latter two are mid week so will be difficult ultimately to attend for some.

And the excuse for fans being quiet at home games when loyalty points aren't irrelevant is?

The noise levels from our fan base are lacking both at home and away games. Several factors contribute to this situation.

Firstly, there is a noticeable sense of entitlement among our supporters, which is evident in the discussions happening on this forum.

Conversely, following last season, our outlook has shifted towards a more pessimistic tone.

Currently, the team is not delivering attacking football that fans desire.

I noticed that for large parts of the game Leeds fans were stood up on 3 sides of the ground at least

We can only dream of that

Quite what explains the difference between us and them I don't know. Are all their fans under 30?

It’s the noisiest home crowd in the 92. No one else comes close IMHO

'We only sing when we're winning' or more accurately ' we only sing when we're not losing' .

The points issue is a tricky one. You have to remember that the equation “how many years watching blades = bigger bladey blade” has to be taken into account. So more points as more time to accrue. You’d upset a few with a reset.

You also have to remember that as a blade your either don’t sing so are a shit fan but also are not allowed to drink Madri at half time or get chizzled of yer chebs.

I think my point is (yer am gunna get to it) it’s such a fine line we walk as blades to be a fan for all. Sing but don’t drink Madri, don’t leave early or arrive late, don’t bring yer kids with signs, don’t go in outdoor at bogs, never question or oppose an opinion. It’s like a fucking Nannay state man

Are you one of those who doesnt really watch the match and spend most of the time looking at the Leeds fans doing wanker gestures and shouting "Fuckoff you wankers!" all the time?

I get the argument that the away support is like a saga day trip . I was there last night and up to the first goal we gave a good account of ourselves. Anyone who was at Hull knows this argument is complete bollocks . No good having more youth at aways as they can’t sing whilst doing Charlie in the crapper 🥺

I think the more notable thing is how the atmosphere can help the home team. Some of Leeds songs are a bit cringey, but overall the noise levels and consistency of support are light years apart from Bramall Lane.

Seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I agree with the points made re: loyalty points. The system has gone on so long now that its creating an aged based barrier.
I think there's possibly too much emphasis on loyalty points linked to season tickets. Whilst season ticket holders are doubtless loyal, loyalty points are (in the main) needed for away tickets and really should be acquired primarily by attending away games.
At the end of the day, the same fans will more than likely have top loyalty points whatever system is used.
