Probably late 1980sWhat is the last game of ours in the league that there is no footage of?
Probably late 1980s
Swindon away is in the 89/90 review video. 2nd goal at Oldham is on Facebook. Both goals was shown on Calendar or Look North in the next dayYeah I was thinking it would be 89/90 promotion season, on the season promotion video, Oldham away isn't on there, nor is Swindon away, could it be one of those?

Am thinking maybe Mansfield away in April 1989. Not seen footage of the opener at Reading in August 1988 plus one or two more during that season. Thanks so that rules them 2 out, so we go back to 88/89?
I remember I had a vhs called “100 years, 100 goals” which I believe had footage of most (if not all) of the matches of the 88/89 season when we were in the 3rd division. Thanks so that rules them 2 out, so we go back to 88/89?

Yes, in the Life with Blades video. There is footage of the FA cup 1st round match,
If it’s the one I’m thinking of it chucked it down the whole night, and we were on an open terrace. Everyone soaked to the skin, bouncing to keep warm (many years before bouncing took on other connotations). There is footage of the FA cup 1st round match, but you may be right, I went to that game the weather was atrocious. Bob Booker had a right game that night and I think set up the winner.

The 1988-9 season was the first season we had a season highlights video. From memory the following games lack footageYes, in the Life with Blades video.
Duffield scored the winner in the April 1989 match from a penalty. Yes, Booker became a hero that evening, think he got tripped in the box and the
The 1988/89 review didnt show the goals scored by our opponents. There is footage of the Aldershot and Bristol City matches (links below). The home game against Cardiff in 1989 was filmed by SUFC's own cameras so I think the Mansfield away game was the last not to have footageThe 1988-9 season was the first season we had a season highlights video. As the video was only showing goals we scored, there may well have been footage (long since wiped no doubt) of the games in which we didn't score. That would definitely have been the case for the 2 home games.
Bob Booker won a penalty? I was at that but my memory of the penalty incident is from a different angle to what I could possibly have seen it in person, so I’m thinking I have seen it on video. However, 35 years can play tricks on your memory.Am thinking maybe Mansfield away in April 1989. Not seen footage of the opener at Reading in August 1988 plus one or two more during that season.
From my dodgy memory, we were on a side terrace (in the mad snow!) towards their goal as we were kicking left to right.Bob Booker won a penalty? That’s it! So we were on the side and not behind the goal? Would explain my flaky memory. From my dodgy memory, we were on a side terrace (in the mad snow!) towards their goal as we were kicking left to right.
Sir Ooh-Aah drove into their box on the opposite side to us and got upended.
I seem to remember us having a good record at grounds with a synthetic pitch. This is a great question. I’ve no idea of the answer, but I’m intrigued to see what turns out to be the last United game of which there is no footage at all. Goals lost forever, existing only in the memories of a few.
Also - that plastic pitch at Oldham brings back some memories. How was a surface so utterly different to grass ever allowed? I seem to remember a few clubs with plastic pitches having ridiculously good home records because it was a completely different game on such pitches, and they were used to it when the visiting team weren’t. Oldham, Luton and QPR come to mind as benefiting in this way. Any others?

Aldershot away
Bristol City away in 1989 was televised but this youtube group wasnt interested in the goals, only the fighting
It was after Hillsborough, which happened on 15 April 1989. The BC game was 13 May 1989I was at the Bristol City game in that video, I took my girlfriend and thought we would sit in the stands to keep her away from any trouble (which was expected).
We were surrounded by Blades who proceeded to "invade" the Bristol City fans area.
It was an interesting experience
The comments in the video from police and Bristol City are worth watching, this was prior to the Hillsborough tragedy which highlighted the danger of fencing in fans.
My mistake. That makes the comments even more odd considering what happened previously. It was after Hillsborough, which happened on 15 April 1989. The BC game was 13 May 1989
I remember the snow much more than the match…From my dodgy memory, we were on a side terrace (in the mad snow!) towards their goal as we were kicking left to right.

I miss the old days of waiting for goals on Sunday to watch Blades highlights. Meant I had to watch the rest of the teams and had a good idea about teams in our league. Now you can just watch Blades highlights online about 5 minutes after the game and I don’t need to watch other championship highlights.Goals on Sunday started in oct 89 so that was probably the first highlights show, was t it?
I still have nightmares about that game Broomhall!Hopefully there is no footage of our final game of the season in 1981 against Walsall.

Yes the key incidents of the home game when we had 3 players sent off was shown on the local tv news.I don’t think there is footage that exists of our Anglo-Italian cup games in 1994/95
