The Legend lives on ❤️
So many great ideas but I like the idea of the fanzone. Starman fanzone.

As suggested on another thread, I’d like the idea of renaming the Kop, ‘The Baldock Kop’ where his name will then live on for as long as the Blades home remains at Bramall Lane. He’s been such a big influence for the club and fans I believe he deserves that accolade.

Hi Swiss I just think they will eventually build on the fanzone area, and there's every chance that at some point that stand will be redeveloped by the star feature could be reinstalled as a after thought Red NEON 22 in middle of Star 🌟

Yeah, possibly, the south stand will also be developed as well in time. But for now a fanzone connects with everyone

I was wondering if the club had made a permanent tribute to Shred when I read this .
We do have the David Spencer young player of the year award which is a lovely gesture .
I suppose if we had a fanzone at the time the naming may have gone to him.

Difficult on how to choose an appropriate legacy for people but I'm sure whatever the club do it will be appropriate.

All things to consider when it's all a bit less raw .

I think this is the best thing to do - a permanent memorial image of George on the front of the South Stand that everyone can see the moment they enter the car park.

Sorry but the Shoreham is the Shoreham is and always will be

They replayed that on Radio 5 this morning and along with this;

They are the finest tributes to George and sum him up perfectly
So many celebrities do kind things, and without being cynical, I suspect many times it's part of building a brand or an image (and I'm not knocking that as a good deed is still a good deed).

To listen to that lady talking about what George did, without asking or seeking any recognition, speaks volumes for what he stood for as a person.

Would a fitting tribute be to name the 'Player of the Year' after him? That would be a yearly reminder and his name would live on forever.
Maybe the players player of the year or create a new award along the lines of the NFL Walter Payton Man of the year award to encompass not only a players on field contributions but also their contributions to local charities and the wider contribution to the community.

Sorry if this has been commented previously but if so I have missed it sorry. MK fans are raising a 1000 pounds to have a flag, already got 500.
MK Dons game in on Sky Sports + tomorrow at 15:00. I will certainly be watching that. Might be a bit emotional though.

All the tributes from fans of former clubs just shows how much he was loved and his attitude to playing and how fans appreciated it, the never give up attitude, commitment and ability, and basically just being one of us but also appreciating the support he got and never took it for granted or expected it. He earnt it, and in spades.

Almost all players will have their detractors amongst any fanbase. I have never heard anyone decrying that George was playing and it seems like fans of other clubs all feel the same.

The young player of the year award is an ideal tribute to Shred. It was done with the consultation of his family
He wouldnt have wanted the fanzone naming

The Greeks did George proud last night

George Elek sums it up well on this Oxford pod cast. Even though most of us have never spoken to or met George, we've shared so many emotional moments together over the past 7 years, and he had such a connection with the fans, it does feel like losing a good friend.

Oxford and MK fans feel exactly the same as us, which just shoes what a diamond the guy was.
