Statement from his family. Terrible that he was due to fly home today.

Glad they are seeing the positive responses and memories about him though

Something doesn’t add up to me though. A man as physically fit as George Baldock doesn’t just drown when doing some lengths in a private swimming pool. Even if he had severe heatstroke or something it seems odd. Maybe it doesn’t matter but i wonder about his mental health particularly with all his family seemingly in the UK at the time.

Why don't you fuck off.

Look ghoul, sudden cramping can happen to anyone whilst swimming fit athlete or not, it’s why trained life guards recommended you don’t do it alone

That's great from Doyle, well done to him for writing that. He describes him there exactly as I judged him to be. An intelligent and passionate leader in the dressing room and perfect mentor for any young players. The 'knowing when to be serious' bit seems spot on to me. Having Baldock and the other long serving senior pros around was a massive reason we were able to get back up

What the actual fuck- I’d delete this if I were you, people such as you and the Sun’s gutter journalism really need to have a long hard look in the mirror. Speculating on what happened without any evidence just adds to the grief of an already suffering family. Stick to talking shit about football, something you also know nothing about.

Indeed - that is far worse than the Ramble stuff IMO.

I saw Billy's post when I was between sets at the gym and I was thinking about this. To people outside of this club\fanbase this will be just another tragic case of a young life lost too soon but to we of course know him deeper. When you think about it he had an amazing career with Sheffield United. Experienced heights of playing in the premier league amongst the best in the world, experienced the lows of relegation, travelled to some amazing stadiums alot of players won't get the chance to play in. Witnessed some of the best years in this clubs history and because of his dedication and obvious influence earned adoration from us all.

When all said and done his family can be bloody proud of him.

He was one of us. He just got the club and the city and genuinely seemed to love being a Blade. That’s without even mentioning the great times he gave us. What a man.

There's a time for speculation and it's not now..people are grieving and emotions are raw..out of respect for the family and friends I'm sure it would be appreciated by everyone if this kind of insensitive talk wasn't discussed right now.
