We didn't for Maddy and she died while at the club.

Personally don't think we need to retire a shirt to remember anyone. Something more positive should be done maybe an end of season award for someone who may not have scored and assisted dozens but perfectly sums up what as fans we want to see from a player.

Just read a decent suggestion on X. George had such a good relationship with fans, how about naming the fan park the George Baldock Fan Park?

I always got the impression that the fan park was just a short term thing.

There will be a right shitstorm if we end up building on it in a few years time.

On events like remembrance day I am firmly of the belief that everyone should respect the minute's silence, but when remembering sportspeople, former players or fellow fans etc, I am the other way, and actually feel that a minute's applause is more fitting. Yes it is a sad moment, but I think we are also celebrating their life at the same time.

It's a tricky one though and I can see why people prefer silence in all cases.

I totally get what you are saying, I just think a minutes silence is a bit more personal because it focuses the mind a bit more than applause does.
The other thing I guess is with a minutes silence you are reliant on the away fans respecting it (i have no reason to suspect the Stoke fans wouldn't) and people arriving late.
If the club did decide to go for the minutes silence I would hope people would give that last pint a miss and get to the ground early.
Maybe a minutes applause would be better because with a minutes silence there might be a few more tears around Bramall Lane come 3.01pm.
