I simply offer my views, in my way; as do you.

You'll see that Kenilworth replied and I concurred with what he said.

Some anti-football fans do prefer Montgomery. I understand he is regarded as one of our "Players of the Century"? The very epitome of embarrassment, I would suggest.

But this "anti-Football fans" stuff really is bollocks. It's a bit like Stalin's "enemies of the people".

They joined a team in turmoil - not the easiest thing for young players!

I'm confident these two proper footballers will be major assets under Clough.

Alternatively we can churn out Montgomery clones for ever more. Nice comforting Bladey mediocrity.

It's the Bladesfans' Way.
Jesus wept...

Montgomery has had much better games for Sheffield United than Cuvelier or Baxter so far ,contributed to a better side and played at a higher level. Both have yet to impress.
Come on Sitters
I would not put Montgomery up as any yardstick - If Cuvelier and Baxter can't surpass the Maestro then they should pack football in and take up something else !
Whilst Pinchy for the most part has backed himself into a corner with this 'total football' bollocks I can't help but agree wholeheartedly with his assessment of Montgomery - a training cone was generally more use than Montgomery at his best !

Plenty of managers ,colleagues ,opponents ,commentators ,fans and other people disagree but hey ho. Football isn't just poncing about making the odd stylish pass so I haven't used him as a yardstick ,it was more of an observation that I haven't seen anything from Cuvelier or Baxter as yet to say they will be as influential as Montgomery was. I don't know how they have managed to get this reputation they have as such wonderful ball players ,as I had never heard of them before they came. McGinn looks a far better proposition to me ,but I hope they both come good .

To be fair as Ronnie Moore would say they shouldn't be put together all the time like Doyle and Collins were ,they are individuals and should be treated as such.

I do agree Sitters that McGinn looks a far better proposition than both Cuvelier and Baxter to date - I just thought it odd that you used Monty as a comparison - different type of player !
My only positive on Monty was his work ethic, couldn't fault that aspect of his game - it's just that the other elements - passing the ball, control, vision and ball skills were woeful!
If you look at the squad now I cannot see Cuvelier getting a look in - at least Baxter has a track record in scoring goals at this level and has already shown a little of what he can do !

The only time I saw Baxter was when he had an influential game for Oldham against Liverpool in the FA Cup. I wondered then why other, bigger teams didn't sign him up.
Now I know why.
Still, I'm hopeful that he will develope under Clough's watchful eye.

Oh dear, I've upset the Flat Earth Society again.......
Because I think you talk out of your arse that means I must love kick and rush football. You are an utter joke and no one takes what you say seriously any more

I always thought Baxter was a striker?

Does today's result make it 10 points from 6 when McGinn has started and 2 from 9 when he hasn't?

2 different managers seem to drop him so readily and there must be a reason.

The manager who signed him dropped him quick enough and Clough has done the same.

I thought McGinty was the player that came with an attitude problem? Obviously not.

I heard he had a slight knock yesterday that's why he started on the bench. Also under Weir he came into training late a few times hence the reason he didn't start many.
