This has knocked me for six, absolutely heartbroken
It is with a very heavy heart that I reflect on the passing of Furious George, a player who truly embodied everything that is special about our club. George was more than just a footballer, he was a symbol of commitment, resilience, and heart, the very qualities that define Sheffield United and its fans.
For years, George gave his all on the pitch, never backing down, always pushing forward, and representing our badge with pride. His tireless energy, unwavering passion, and defensive grit made him a standout for the Blades. Whether it was during the highs of promotion campaigns or the tough battles to stay competitive, George was always there, giving 110% for the team and for us, the fans.
His marauding runs down the right flank, his crunching tackles, and his never-say-die attitude will be forever etched in our memories. He was the kind of player who played for the shirt and for the people who love this club, players like George don’t come around often, and we were fortunate to call him one of our own.
George Baldock’s legacy will live on not just in the goals and assists, but in the passion he showed, the moments he created, and the pride he brought to Bramall Lane. He will forever remain in the hearts of Blades supporters as a true club legend.
Rest in peace, George. You will be missed, but never forgotten. My thoughts are with your friends and family.
I hope we can do something at the next home game fitting for George and his family
