Signed for QPR

With parachute payments QPR can take the risk , if it doesn't work out . Unfortunately we have no such luxury , and each player brought in by Adkins , has to hit the ground running .

Also IMO we cannot be in a situation of " One for the Future " scenario on any player signed . The future will be determined what we do now.

Looks like he turned down the pigs to go to QPR

This coming from Alan Nixon. Think he works for the Sun and gets some on the money info regards the pigs

Apparently, he dropped the hint weeks ago wendy were looking to ditch Gray.

I know some guys that worked at Bristol City and they did not seem surprised by this story. One said immediately that he would definitely be guilty.

I've got a lot of respect for him trying to bring the chill to the UK. Place needs it.

Cannabis should not be an illegal drug.. that's all I'll say on the matter.
There’s a very decent rationale for that especially from a medicinal perspective.

But some folks think the law doesn’t apply to them and that it should apply how they think things should be which simply cannot be allowed to happen.

That said, let’s remember what Huw Edwards just got as punishment and observe with interest!

Hard on drugs but soft on paedophilia isn’t a great message!

Absolutely. But even harsher penalties than alcohol for operating vehicles under the influence, because that's madness.

My theory for about a decade is that that we'll legalise it in the UK when the already-rich have set up their big marijuana businesses. i.e. Some Tory donors will become trillionaires from it.

Some say its not addictive ,But we had to sack a guy that nearly killed himself at work because he was high as a kite using a over head crane in the steel firm .He even said he was dependent on it and used it like smoking a cigarette

True, but you could say the same for alcohol or even coffee.

Anything can become addictive from electronic devices to food If not in moderation.

Cannabis has more health benefits and does less harm long term than both alcohol and tobacco.

True but most use cannabis with tobacco ,Not knocking it i have used it a few times but think it needs to be on prescription if for health benefits you can become dependent on it

That was his choice. I believe you can get addicted - anything can be habitual - but not to the extent of needing to get high at work or committing crimes to fund the "habit".

Like I said, operating vehicle (or machinery) would need to be strongly punished.

I think you have to be very careful how you package those health benefits.

The problem with cannabis and alcohol is that they do impair your ability to carry out everyday tasks

As a project in Guyana, we had to walk a tightrope with our drug and alcohol policy as well as testing. Since cannabis is legal in the Netherlands and I was working for a Dutch company, we had a lot of people that smoke weed like we would enjoy a beer. We also employed locals from Guyana to operate cranes, telehandlers and fork trucks as well as moving 12m x 12” dia pipes. A dangerous operation for anyone sober, more so for people with cannabis in their system.

Addiction/ dependency is not always the issue, it’s how a substance can impair and of course how a person can be tested fast and efficiently when operating machinery and equipment.

We had Guyanese guys turning up to be tested in the morning and then going smoking area for a joint straight after….

Is this Nixon’s first ever mention on here?

Any particular donors?

Problem we have in this country is anyone who wants to smoke it can only get super strength varieties.

It’s the same as if the only alcohol you could get your hands on was special brew or absinthe. There’s also absolutely no age barrier so kids as young as 11 are straight on the hard stuff.

Regulate and tax it, no point trying to make something illegal that grows in the ground. Drugs have to be treated with respect but it’s mad that politicians and the press have spent 60 years moralising about them without any real idea why.

Cannabis used regularly can also lead to psychosis and clinical depression -
Long term use can have a small but permanent effect on how well
you think and concentrate.
Smoking cannabis can cause a serious relapse if you have a
psychotic illness.
Regular cannabis use can lead to an increased risk of later
developing mental illness.
Risk especially if you use cannabis when you
are young.

Think you will find that has already happened and has been for years, the big business bit anyway.

Now do alcohol.
