Agree that we need another CF. If only we could have tied McBurnie down for another season, he would be unreal in this system.

I was also keen on getting another CB, but Souttar and Anel look great together, so having Robbo (assuming he is back soon), RND and Gilchrist as back up options is not a disaster. That perhaps present an issue with RB at some point, but Siriki and Shackleton should be fine as cover.

Then we come to LW/LAM. Again I was keen to get someone else in, but if Hamer goes central we have Brooks and Campbell as well as McCallum and Burrows who can be deployed further up. So that gives us enough for the time being.

ST: Yes we do need proper cover there, Brewster needs to find some form (he needs to get that first goal like McB did against Luton), Campbell seems like he'd be better out wide and Marsh lacks game time.

LW: Would be nice to have some cover but not desperate, Hamer doing fine so far, Rak-Sakyi and Brooks could cover there, I reckon same with Campbell.

CB: Again, would be nice to have another CB after losing Trusty, since Robbo is currently injured and we need to manage RND's fitness to prevent another injury.

True but too late now as club too skint so must pray for no injuries, bans or loss of form.
Same at CB.
We are on thin ice at CF & CB and the rumour is that Wilder wanted Tom Cannon & Mepham but despite getting £6m for Trusty which would have funded both loans , we failed.
This despite Wilder specifically highlighting that we had 2 loan slots left.
With those two we had a realistic chance of autos.
Without them , we rely on lady luck.
Poor strategy by club.
Don't know how this will change in January unless new owners come in and want to invest.

Once one of them is absent , we go straight down to Gilchrist , JLT & RND , each of whom barely scrape 6ft.
I haven't seen Gilchrist play at CB so can't judge his leap , but JLT & RND aren't in the same class as Souttar & Anel and both have injury issues.
So we are very vulnerable at CB.
Same at CF if Moore is absent.
I would feel happier re CF if I'd seen Campbell actually play some minutes.
We all know Brewster is not the answer.

I’d rather us just play Hamer as a false 9 than Brewster tbh, he’s just not good enough. Doesn’t even show a good level of ability when we’re controlling games like tonight, Christ knows how screwed we’d be if we genuinely had to somehow rely on him to lead the line for a number of games in a row.

Our squad is better than our premier league squad from last season. Horrendous thought I know. Our starting 11 last night would comfortably beat our starting 11 from last August. Albeit only Anel (and Hamer/Souza from Forest game) is the only crossover player and he's a completely different player this season.

Don't forget Souza! He played 3 times as CB for Mechelen so at least he has (limited) experience in that position!

I doubt Souza has the positional discipline to play CB but even if he did , we would lose his very valuable contribution in midfield.
We are light at CB & CF and it's frustrating that we didn't get 2 loans for those 2 positions.
Just have to hope for a lot better luck with injuries than in recent seasons.
