Are some Blades fans that narrow minded that they wouldn't want a manager with links to S6. We just want the best person (available) for the job. Barker is just a credible candidate as Smith,Cox,Evans,Cook and Davis,all have been quoted by some on here at some stage.
If Barker came and did well, wouldn't you be pleased ?
Personally, I don't think he has enough experience to try and keep us up and he wouldn't be my choice but if the Board select him,he should be given a chance(unlike some fans did with DW1).
Why shouldn't he be in the running-because of who he supports ?Does that mean we also discount anyone who supports Leeds or West Ham ?Does it matter that he would put a blue and white scarf on as long as he did a good job? I think the fans in S6 have enough to worry about rather than being obsessed with us.
Gary Megson , Bryan Robson, and Blackwell would be more divisive than Barker.
We need to get in the real world. We are bottom on Division 3 and not many (if any) decent managers will come to us. We will have to look at unemployed managers or managers of so called smaller clubs where someone has successfully managed on a small budget and made the best of the players he has.
Whoever we get, some fans will moan and throw the teddys out of the pram.
In our position, we may need a Warnock or Pullis to get us out of this mess in the short term. Imagine the uproar by some fans if one of these two proven managers took over
