Very fortunate to avoid a red for that late challenge. A great player and had a good game, but needed to calm it down there, we would regret losing him for three games. The ref should have booked a Watford player earlier which I think didn't help the game.

Don't be ridiculous never a red card in a gazillion years
What a Strange post topic after a home win

It.looked a bad challenge where I was sat, delighted it wasn't a red. A Good performance today.
I think it was the speed of the challenge that made it look bad.
It was a very strong challenge but his foot was low., so not dangerous.

Probably an orange care but they don't exist.
A red would have been very harsh...so a yellow was probably fair.

It was never a red, some are describing it like that McEveley one against Cov but it was just a running barge. Deffo yellow, not sure the ref needed to charge over the way he did though, had he booked two of their players for awful late challenges prior to it then it wouldn't have flared up as bad.

Spot on, the referee lost control in the last 10 minutes, led to the bust up at the end

Or the lad who literally pulled O'Hares leg back so he wouldn't get back up in the box and potentially score. Ref didn't even look twice.

Never a red, a yellow yes and was it a tad rough? Maybe but that's life.

It was a ridiculous challenge, but we showed some real fight at the end (literally), for the first time in a long time.

This team give a shit. It was fantastic to see some fucking spirit again.

We aren’t going to be whipping boy bitches this season.

One of those take one for the team yellow challenges, right decision with a yellow card.

Ball was still in play and ought to have been a penalty.

It happened in front of me. It was a professional foul. He knew what he was doing and so did the ref. He made sure he was taking him down but it was not malicious.

Although agreed it was a yellow, it did happen quick and I haven’t seen it back yet, I think if that if that type of challenge happens when we are playing Man U at Old Trafford then it might be a slightly different outcome depending on the result at the time or VAR might have had a look and we would have been down to 10. The referee rightfully or wrongly took the “easy” option of the yellow. Although it’s not surprising reading comments online it’s all ex-Watford players or pro Watford pundits/fans saying it’s a red.

Took no chances with a potential fast break away from Watford, sometimes you just have to take one for the team and personally think this was one of those times.
Totally agree, we often berate players for not taking one for the team when the opposition break and we declined to take one out as other teams do.

The ref got it right with a yellow, probably the only thing he did get right

Just ran across their player, didn't raise his foot. Not dangerous and definitely not the last man.
