Tend to agree. More £££, for sure, but not £2M. And if the Osula money helped pay for it, I suspect we will get better value with JRS than we would from Osula. Maybe not over whole career but 24/25 for sure. Time will tell, I suppose.
Palace told us what it would cost to get the deal done, as is their right. At that point we had a choice. I’m delighted that the club showed the ambition to bring in a potentially game changing player. I can’t see that Palace have done anything wrong at all, I’d hope we’d do the same.

Can’t wait to watch this lad running at Bogle 😁
Is £2m rising to £4m too much?

Normally I would say yes, however, things are changing. We need to get back and become established in the PL as a club with the financial clout to buy top players before it becomes a closed shop.

Things are changing at BDTBL as well. As things stand we don’t know how, will we have wealthy owners? Well, I don’t think we’ll have skint owners this time and if these high cost loans bridge the gap between skint owners and owners with the funds needed then I’m all in favour.

It’s only until the new owners can “take control” we have to be the arse end of the Pantomime donkey

I'm a Belt and Bracers man myself and looking back at some of the recent big money, high profile, game changing failures we have signed ,I'll be having a problem sleeping tonight......🤪☹️🫣

As a prem club as well so thats what makes this feel quite wild. Again its not slagging off the club or the player as I think he's a great signing but just find it crazy how much loan signings cost for players who've, so far, done very little i their career. Makes you think we could've made a fortune out of Osula or Jebbo (in the loan market). 2 players with Prem experience/goals.
If we could “become a Palace” mid-table to bottom half but stable Premier League club, it would give us the stability and platform to be able to do that. Currently we need those players for squad depth

I keep thinking what the pig fans are thinking about 'our' transfer window

My old schoolmate who is a Charlton fan says of JRS
he could be absolutely a genius and skilful and then five minutes later, a erratic player, somewhat inconsistent but does excite the fans occasionally... hope your manager gets the best out of him.

I was one who didn’t think he would come, what do i know!! I’m a critic of Wilder and Co but most things gone about the right way and the quality of players brought in is a statement and testament to the club how far we have come. Forget last season’s shitshow. Looking forward to this guy rocking up.

Palace are arguably the most boring team in the top two leagues. Never threaten the top 6, always clear of relegation, no cup runs. They are the equivalent of having a bread roll and water for dinner. Boring.

Why does Wilder have to start publicly whinging about Leeds & Bogle and Leeds & JRS ?
Makes him sound like an old woman.
Wish he wouldn't do this kind of thing.
Just gives the media chance to bring up that ref/sandwich thing.
Embarrassing.

Palace's forward line played some exciting stuff last season.
Don't forget that becoming a Palace is our objective.
I would love to be in the PL and always clear of relegation.
That kind of boring gives you a chance to develop the club , which will never happen otherwise.

JRS/Jez shouldn't need any guarantee of minutes.
He created more excitement in the last 10 mins on Saturday than the whole of the rest of the team managed in the whole of the second half.
If he plays like that he should start every game - he's the only player we have that can run at defences and give them something to worry about.
Feels like ages since we've had a player who'll carry the ball and try to beat a defender - keep it up lad 💪

Wilder probably needs to wind his neck with some of that stuff but just look at the state of Palace fans in the comments. The lads only been here a week and these wankers are saying if you are not gonna start him we want him back.

Wilder is right to correct the misinformation in the press. Afterall it can be used against him and the club in the future and maybe even impact our team if he doesn't.He's wrong to call out the perpetrators directly. That's unnecessary.

JRS to Palace is in a similar situation to Peck for us. There’s no chance JRS would start for Palace but he’d see some time off the subs bench.

However they’ve decided that because of last years injury he’s needs to see plenty of game time in an attacking team.

Imagine we sent Peck to Rotherham in league 1 and they were initially only starting him from the bench then our fans would be angry saying we should recall him.

Anyhow it probably won’t be an issue because in general JRS will start matches with rest days thrown in.

Agree…I thought the same.

Who do the media think they are reporting he’s only chosen us above Leeds because of a must play clause that Leeds refused to agree to.

Some of our fans probably won’t accept it but don’t you think it’s telling that we’ve chased targets with loads of interest from other clubs but we’ve won. That’s massively positive news and something we should all be proud about that the best loan options seem to want to come here.

He could've left it for the denoument to the season when Leeds could then do fuck all about it: https://fxtwitter.com/jaden_marshy/status/1764750412073103486

Twice earned a corner by beating their defence.

On 3rd time beat defender but mishit cross.

All in the space of 10 minutes.

Hadn't seen their comments - interesting that they should be so bothered

Fair enough to confirm JRS has no guarantee to play.
But re Bogle he seems to be accusing them of indirect tapping up followed by low offer.

For me teams are entitled to low ball so that's a none issue. Tappng up happens everywhere so I couldn't give a shit either. It's basically ungovernable so I have zero expectations that it will ever be stopped. Clubs ask players and their agents if they're interested in a move and what their salary demands are before they bid. If they offer below the valuation, or the current club rejects the offer they don't get the player. If I was Wilder I wouldn't get involved in that.
