Again its not slagging off the club or the player as I think he's a great signing but just find it crazy how much loan signings cost for players who've, so far, done very little i their career. Makes you think we could've made a fortune out of Osula or Jebbo (in the loan market). 2 players with Prem experience/goals.

So just how good is JRS?

I've seen a few people making comparisons with Olise. Thats just silly. Olise would walk into most teams on the planet, and Bayern getting him for £50 million feels like we've been ripped off. Damn those release clauses

Olise is one of the, possibly the best player I've ever seen in a Palace shirt. If JRS gets near that level, I'll be amazed.

What JRS has the POTENTIAL to be is a solid, exciting Premier League winger. He has all the attributes, and had a great loan year at Charlton.

Then his progress stalled horribly last year. Turmoil at our club and his injuries meant he didn't get the chance to develop.

Then when things improved under Glasner, we had the Olise/Eze/Mateta combo on fire up front. No way in hell JRS was getting picked ahead of any of them.

So what are you getting with JRS? The POTENTIAL to be one of the best players in the league, but a LOT of unknowns. He has all the tools, all the talent, and he's been on fire in pre-season.

A solid run of competitive games in a tough division is exactly what he needs to get him back on track.

This move could be great for both our clubs, and for JRS himself. The guy is clearly desperate to get on the pitch, which is always a good sign.

I've also had a cheeky punt for Blades to get promoted... so with that and JRS, looks like I'll be watching a lot of Blades matches this season

Has he played any games (even if not for Palace first team) since the hamstring injury which kept him out for 6 months last season ?
Hopefully our medical dept are now expert enough on hamstrings to have assessed his resilience to further injury.

Excited about this one given the general consensus from Palace fans and pundits I trust eg the NTT20 lads. Like any youngster, he’ll need taking out of the firing line every now and then. I just hope we're planning on keeping Souza, and he knuckles down and does the job he did at Preston, otherwise every game we play might end up being about 9-8 either way.
