Congratulations and well done to the club for the great set of signings.

Truthfully, at the end of last season, I could not see a way forward. We were at rock bottom and the laughing stock of world wide football: even my U10 boys here in Toledo / Dayton were unpromtly laughing and sneering when I showed up in my SUFC gear for practice.

Now, after the 10 signings, permanent and loan, the way forward is rosy. Not perfect because we have to win games and get confidence back in our club, but the youthfullness and quality of the signings, coupled with some really good club youth talent augers well for this season (as long as we don't do a Berge/NDyie last minute trick!).

So, credit where credit is due, especially with the sale of the club still up in the air.

Given good stewardship by the coaching staff, a change in formation to suit the youthfullness we have, and a positive start to the season, I think we could be in for one heck of a great season.

Whether we are ready for the EPL is s difficult question but, you know what, thats where the money is and I, for one, will celebrate is we do get promoted.

Agree...I just enjoy watching beautiful football.....and even if you lose having a team that you can be proud of.

Really enjoyed the Nigel Spackman team due to playing some great football.
Really enjoyed the brilliant midfield of Coutts, Fleck and Duffy....loved watching Duffy

and I got that same feeling of "these boys can play", when I saw how Hamer, O'Hare and Arblaster were so good on the ball at Preston.

It's early days (1 game means nothing really) but I'm starting the get that feeling...that we could well have a really good team
far better than last seasons relegation side and even better than Hecky's promotion side.

I would wait till the window shuts before there is any back slapping this is SUFC remember.

Very true....when things are going well.....we're tempting the Gods to come up with their latest sickener.
Don't mind losing Anel, might even be OK losing Souza but don't want to lose Hamer....no way.

None of us can predict where this season will go but, right now on the eve of our first home game it feels really positive and can't ask for much more, ive mentioned in the past that our crowd can be the best or worst regarding atmosphere but you can bet your house that at the beginning tomorrow it is going to be up there, can't wait. After last season we are desperate to give it a go, bring it on.

Always the way with us and that is not putting a downer on things.

It is just past events tell us that if anything will go wrong for us it will.

Look at the VAR not being switched on and how that derailed us and the ramifications that had.

Then with recent events with Ndiaye and Berge being sold completely deflated the entire fan base and we knew we were down before a ball had been kicked.

I have been very impressed so far and with a couple more additions and no outgoings for our key players and we will be cooking I dare say.

I would like to see us sign a striker or two think we are light to say the least up top.

The money you receive when promoted to the Premiership is to help you strengthen the playing staff to give you a chance of at least being competative in a very difficult division. All we did was ship out our best two players and replace them with absolute dross. It was a disgrace and the club was quite rightly humiliated as a result, the very least you expect is to be is entertained and we didn’t even get that.

Not sure how we did it, but a hugely improved squad in championship for a similar outlay to what we spent in the Prem...

Kinda blows my mind a little bit but shows 1 of 2 things;

1) Our previous scouting team was way below the standard it should have been
2) Our wage bill was bloated with players that should have been moved on long ago

Or possibly both

I still think we need another striker as we can't rely on Brewster not getting injured. Other than that it's been far better than I expected and I'll take back some of my criticism of the club, though a lot was warranted and just at the time due to lack of communication coming from the club about anything, where Wilder was clearly becoming frustrated with the powers that be.

I can't question any of the signings so far as we seem to have targetted quality over quantity, something we have failed to do since Wilder first took over in League One.

It's been a good window given the takeover situation, especially since Wilder has seemingly had to generate his own funds. I'm not bothered about selling Bogle, as I never rated him anyway, nor Osula as there was nothing yet to miss. I'm not angry at any of the players we lost to free transfers as all were past their best and many should have moved on two seasons ago.

Very promising window. I thought a season of lower mid table beckoned for us. To the board’s credit, we’ve recruited well. Would still like to see another striker in, but even if that doesn’t happen, this has been a very good window.

My mood is ten times more positive than 3 weeks ago.

As long as we only lose one of Anel or Souza it’s been a decent window.

We still need 1 more striker (2 at a push) given our injury woes in recent years and probably a right back as we seem light there as well.

I’d say I’ve gone from thinking we could finish anywhere from 2nd to 23rd a few weeks ago to now thinking we can end up anywhere from 2nd to 10th. There are still some teams with stronger squads than us and there’s a big risk around us ‘gelling’ as a team given the ins and outs.

The likes of Moore, Cooper and Burrows alongside good loans and frees (particularly O’Hare) on paper is good business.

It’s the Blades though so I’m not counting any chickens.
