Is Weir being stubborn or just plain stupid? Why would you still play next Sunday when you have the choice to postpone?
He brings King in and sees his importance but accepts to play without him...
Why oh why????

more to the point, we have just added another out of sorts defender to an already shaky defence and will most likely have to pick jelly hands howard, up against the best strike partnership in the division. its not even like that fact has gone under the radar seeing as tried to sign both of them!

Firstly, it might not be his decision. Secondly, considering how skint we are, then maybe we need the TV money?

Leyton Orient technically have the best striking pair in the division.

Weir deserves to be sacked for this alone ffs! You would have to be mentally retarded to want to play a game whilst missing your first choice goalkeeper and striker when we can easily postpone the game for another date.

Someone at the club needs to explain why we haven't postponed it - because to the majority of fans it seems to be a fkin stupid decision.

I reckon he has already booked into the East Hunsbury Toby for a carvery lunch on Sunday. Eat as much as you like at £6.50, with a pud.

It would be a pity to miss such a feast.

Asked in the other thread about this - do the away team definitely get paid by Sky? Thought the payment was compensation to the home side for loss of revenue

Completely stupid decision not to postpone. The Coventry match was always going to be difficult with our current lack of confidence and form and now we go in to it without our main striker and goalkeeper. Any chance to build on the minor improvement seen in the second half last night will go out of the window with a convincing defeat next week and we go in to the Port Vale game in exactly the same situation we went in to last nights match. The club needs to explain their logic when making these decisions.

On another point why have United and Wednesday been scheduled at home on the same weekend for the second year running. This never used to happen in the past and is sheer incompetence on the part of the fixture planners. United (and Wednesday for that matter) should have played hell with the football league as soon as the fixtures came out.

I'm going to guess it's because one of us is in league 1.

Lot easier to piss around with lower league fixtures...
