Is that what you thought?

I took it as confirmation that he's put in a good word for us and vouched for us as being a great club to play for.
That's miles away from saying he's joining us.

Also how would he know? If a decision was made a few days ago and Sakhi has already told his Palace team mates you would expect something more substantial in the media. Reports saying he's joined us or joining us.....the fans the reports say we're leading the race suggest someone is hoping for an auction to push up the price.

I read it that he had made his mind up, so we had presumably offered his wage rise and guaranteed playing time to persuade him. This is also assuming we had already matched the loan fee demand and Palace had allowed him to talk to us.

Journalists seem to suggest it was all agreed as well.

Don't want to worry people but this article isn't rehashed.

My understanding was that Leeds couldn't guarantee him the same sort of game time that we could?

Not sure how that can suddenly change unless they've had an injury or summet.

We will see, he could be in Preston toneet....

I think we're front runners for a reason. Wilder is second to none on selling this club - what he wants, how we play, what he expects, what business we've done already, and probably making players feel wanted. Add to that, that a former player has also vouched for the club too, more than likely, in private, sighting the club itself, the fans, the atmosphere, the front-footedness of how were look to play, the manager etc.

All stands us in decent stead. I'm not overly worried but time will tell. We've done all we can.

MGW did brilliantly for us and Wolves didn't recall him

Henderson did well and Man U didn't recall him

Doyle did well and Man City didn't recall him

McAtee did well and Man City didn't recall him.

Ben Woodburn was terrible and Liverpool didn't recall him

Luke Thomas didn't get recalled🤣

I can't remember one player a PL club has recalled from us, can you? If they do recall him, it'll be because he's tearing it up - what's not to like??
Spurs recalled Kyle Walker back !

True but they were after Jonny Rowe from Norwich but with a pricetag of £15 mill, think they've gone back to the drawing board. May have come back in for Rak-Sakyi. For what it's worth, still think he comes to us.

Yeh agree with that bit.....I was just referring to the Henderson bit....I'd expect him to put a good word in for us and he has

I'm always a bit weary.....when the press state
"Sheffield United, Leeds and Hull have all made their loan bids and Crystal Palace prefer to accept the Sheffield United bid
as it's slightly better than the other two. However it's now up to the player to decide".

It's a though Palace has deliberately gone to press...hoping to create an auction....so Leeds and Hull try to guzump us with an increased bid late in the day. Then there's always the options for Leeds or Hull to further financially persuade the player.

It's like we're being dangled on a string...but we can hardly lose patience and walk away.

I was hoping this was all agreed a while back but Sakyi is currently in the USA with the Palace team
so it makes me wonder if the persuasive Chris Wilder has even met the player yet.

But he's not in the States

If he'd wanted to he'd be at the lane now, for some reason either he wants to stay in London or negotiate a bigger wage by playing other clubs off against each other
I think this is another one of those that got away.
You are always so positive and uplifting, never a negative view, well done Dave.

Yeah that’s how simple it is

If I had to choose where he'll go I still think it will be us. If it was a permanent deal then I'd be more worried about Leeds but as it's not he will be moving for football reasons alone and we can offer him anything Leeds can.
