Quite easily mate- you show him that his career will progress far more in a competitive Championship side with a history of raising the reputations of young loanees in front of 28000 rather than at a perennial struggler who basically play in a shed. You also remind him that this is the modern world where we have cars and trains and forms of communication that he can utilise when needed.
Hope so,but it Palace’s decision. Depends on him also if as you say ‘he wants to better his career’. Obviously Gilchrist has made the decision and Deano will have a good word in his ear.

This. Since he was first linked it was said his preference was to stay in London. Annoying thing is though if that is the case then why would we still be bothering a month later. Hopefully Gilchrist doing a similar move might help 🤷‍♂️
We now have more money now with the sale of Osula, that puts us back in the race.

Depends on what the loan fee and wages are
Likely that his wage will be up there plus the cooper package - combined those two could eat up a substantial amount of the 10 million

Strong possibility, need another forward as well. More fun and shenanigans to come before the window shuts.

How do you pay a loan player higher wages? Clue - you don't.

We might offer to pay a larger proportion to the parent club. But we can't give the player a new contract.

Cheers as always Nixon.
Sure there's a way to facilitate higher wages for a player

Excellent point.
And while it makes complete sense, is it actually true?
Yes paying a higher percentage of the players salary will sweeten the deal for the parent club and not so much the player, but there must be a way of giving the player a financial incentive too.
A bonus? Or something similar to a signing on fee?
Doesn't seem our style really, it sounds more like something a Leeds would do. It also borders on validating The Fox point about players coming for money over desire, but if his attitude is right I'd still pay whatever we are able to.

You can add incentives on top of the loan... such as appearance bonus, win bonus, goal bonus etc etc

This is a new one on me. Good to know, I thought it might have been complicated given I would assume his parent club continue to pay his wages, and we pay them a sum to cover the percentage agreed.
Does he get paid from two sources? Do we pay them and then they pass it on outside his contract?

It's certainly complicated.
