CONFIRMED Michael Cooper signs for the Blades

Think, after seeing the way Cooper is playing currently, that his head has been turned by the interest in him, so we will have to hope it's our interest thats turned his head.

I have heard Bettis say in an interview that it was Archer and one other decent sale needed to fill the shortfall. I'm also pretty sure I have read or heard somewhere from one of the suspects involved that it was a shortfall of £20m.

Do I recall the exact interview ? No, but tend to remember the bits about SUFC and finances and I have a strong recall about hearing we are about £20m short in running costs post relegation.

£16m of that was already accounted for by the automatic sale of Archer
 
According to a Plymouth fan on Porktalk deal agreed with Plymouth deal agreed with Cooper, then apparently we said we had no money could we pay you next year, Plymouth told us too fizz off.
A few Premiership clubs after him but we are the only ones promising him the No 1 position, so he did want to join us apparently..

Why the fuck would someone with genuine in the know information about a potential transfer from Plymouth to Sheffield United rush to a Sheffield Wednesday forum and share it there?!

No. The Archer auto sell back was separate. It was a decent sale of a player in addition to the Archer going back sale. Definitely heard a podcast of Bettis saying this (might have been in an interview he had with the Radio Sheffield lad Staton?). He was quite clear it was Archer and one other (to all intents the Archer deal was a loan and we needed a 'proper' decent sale).

The evidence to support this is that Archer has gone back (been sold 😏) and we are still scrabbling around needing money. It was always Archer plus 1 other decent sale (looking at you Souza or Anel).

I remember it being archer +1 other as well.

The reality of the archer situation is that it was essentially a loan / paper transactions.

We paid the first instalment of a few million. Him going back cancelled out the remaining instalments. So we did not recieve any money back for him this summer. So him going back definitely does not boost the coffers.

He didn't rush he's been a member since 2021 and has made over 600 posts on Porktalk.
Looking back at his posting history he does seem a genuine Plymouth fan.
The post was also in the Plymouth match thread on Porktalk and mentioned other things as well like the new players they have signed and the cost of the tickets for the match.

I'd say the position remains exactly the same. If Souza or Anel go and we genuinely want Cooper I think we'll get him. Rooney will say stuff like this all day long because he can't just say yes we're waiting for Sheffield United to get their act together.

Managers/coaches will tell you a player is huge part of their plans while the player is packing suitcases into a range rover behind them.
 
He says he'll be in the squad at the start of the season, he doesn't say anything about the end of August
