Fair play, I actually don't mind or blame him for going abroad. Would've been annoyed if he'd signed for another Championship club.

Hope he’s made the right decision for his sake. Never quite worked here did it ?

This made me laugh a bit in my X Feed just happened to be under Oli's picture.

i wish him Good luck in Spain & i get it, its a no brainer if you get the chance to play in la liga. you take it with both hands. i thought that he has been decent. he had a great purple patch & defensive work was at times more important than him attacking

i know 1 person who secretly or publicly will be pleased to see him go is ramble. if i had a pound for everytime he or his dad slagged him off 😄

I’d agree with the 10-15 needed from backup strikers but say that’s the bare minimum, you look at the previous 2 promotions and we had:

2018/19 - Sharp 24 goals, Didzy 15 but then only Clarke with 3 behind those 2 from the forwards

2022/23 - Ndiaye 14 goals, McB 13 goals, Sharp 2 goals, Jebbo and Brewster 1 each

Then the 5th place season under Hecky in 2021/22 - Sharp 14 goals, MGW 11 goals, Ndiaye 7 goals

We historically rely on 2 players getting the bulk of the forwards goals so we need another 10-15 goal forward for me.

The backups aren’t exactly prolific in first team league football so 5-10 would be optimistic from them.

O’Hare and Hamer need to score 15-20 between them as well really then the rest of the goals can be dotted around.

Probably worth mentioning that if Grbic is in goal then we need to double all of the goal requirements above!
Not exactly a £17m player is he? Fucking crap IMO

The amount of support the club has given him, after his off field troubles, constant injuries and getting suspended whenever he was fit, some loyalty from him would have been nice.

I've never rated him, he was ok at best IMO, but I was pleased when I thought he'd re signed this week as the Championship is his level.

Anyway, no loyalty back, says he's signing for us then pisses off to Spain. Even duped the great Sunjihi. If they think BBD isn't very technical in Spain, wait until they see McBurnie 🤣🤣🤣.

I'll remember him for his constant moaning and scuffed shots. Oh, and 2 goals against Man Urd, and the winner against Brighton in our first PL season.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Worth remembering once Wilder was back he started pushing to get contracts sorted last year and offers on the table to players. People talk like we randomly decided on the 1st of June or something to put an offer to him.

Las Palmas is the most random move to make and it screams agents idea rather than McBurnie's.

Sad about this. Understand it and a massive GLTTL. Been a critic of him at times but think we’re better with him (both footballing and as a person). He understood the blades, sad to see him go

I’ve already explained this, we didn’t randomly decide to offer a contract on the first of June, we offered him, Egan and Norwood measly offers because they weren’t too fussed if they left or not, the club knew what they were doing, it’s just the slowness of the takeover that’s getting people all worked up, that’s why McBurnies agent found him a different club.

Just seems like a square peg & round hole move that one football wise … but he’ll get a good signing on fee & wages & villa in the sun not to mention a happy agent .. fair play to the lad it could be a shite sight worse … instinct says he’ll be back in the Championship in the not too distant future

Oli is a very likeable lad- and fair play to Blades fans they did stick by him - to have the main song for 5 years is pretty astonishing.

But...

In 80 matches in the Prem he scored 13 goals - Enough said really isn't it.

There's a direct comparison to BBD. Similar type of players, but I'd say BBD is one or two levels higher.

If he struggled in La Liga, i can't see McBurnie having a long and illustrious time there. He'll be back in Blighty before you can say full English and only fools and horses....

I was speaking to a piggy mate of mine yesterday, and we discussed McBurnie. His parting shot was “He’ll enjoy it there…….if he passes the medical” 🤣🤣
