There’s time to get a few in yet, but it’s not good as it stands…

I didn’t realise this at the time, but Benjamin Bloom spoke about how Leeds fell fractionally short last season, and apparently they were hampered by a start disrupted by takeover shenanigans.

Obviously I’ve no idea where our takeover stands, but both sides must know that if uncertainty is allowed to hinder the season, the value of the deal can only drop.

I do keep telling myself not to panic but the almost comedic length of time it takes us to get deals done doesn't bode well for the first few weeks of the season. I don't quite buy into the window not closing until the end of August argument, there's a lot of points to play for between now and then - no harm in leaving a few loan signings until that point but the backbone of your squad should really be in place by the time the first fixture rolls round.
