Sorry if I’m being thick here but even in a back 4 you need a Left-sided centre-back no?

I wouldn't say it's as important in a 4 as it is in a 5.

In a 5 the outer 2 CBs are quite wide so being left footed on the left is preferred. In a 4, both CBs tend to remain central
