I interpreted that segment of the conversation differently. The Talksport presented clearly thinks we're signing him and wanted to catch the Peterborough Chairman out, by referencing our good business in the market so far. I think MacAnthony was just being "clever" in his response and tried to deflect.

We'll see I suppose.

I also suspect the presenter knows that we're signing him because MacAnthony has probably talked about it with them, off air.

I think he's saying that he's heard that Leeds have matched our offer. If this is the case and we have not already tied him up, then I fear he will go to Leeds over us.

Also, Leeds would not be able to put an offer in on a player if that player had already signed for a club - so it's most deffo not a done deal with us as some have suggested.

Gutted if we've missed out as he seems to be a real quality player.

Depends, we might have more to offer wage wise and guaranteed playing time - plus a lot of Leeds top talent currently facing offers so uncertainty at who you'll be playing alongside

Possible, personally I don’t see it but I wouldn’t rule it out

But really if either of them are that effective then likely neither are playing for a team outside of prem league

Cheers for message. If he chooses them that's his preogrative but hopefully we've done enough leg work on the deal to get it done.

Assuming the amount offered is broadly the same, a club may well accept several offers as the club making the best offer (in terms of up front amount - for example) may not end up actually signing the player, for whatever reason. They could just be keeping their options open.
