Reminds me of the "we sign Brewster for £25M and in 3 years time he's almost guaranteed to be worth £60M".

"For once in your life Sheff Utd need to show some ambition, pay Liverpool the £25 million asking price before Palace nip in for him
and pay Brewster what ever he wants".

Saw the above type of comment several times when we were trying to buy Brewster, look how that turned out.
Loads replied there's no chance we'll buy Brewster because they said the Prince was tight and they said Sheff Utd always lack ambition.

However agree that Cooper does seem a no brainer of a buy, especially as we're lacking in the goalie department.
Would just be our luck to land him then at PNE …….

OR, he's just a good shot-stopper who's only really proven himself at L1 level, is coming back from a serious injury, but who has potential.
I'd like us to sign him, but let's not paint this up to be a no-brainer when there are young keepers available on loan from PL sides who are probably at a similar level and risk profile. It's likely to be a significant outlay, as with Burrows with potential high reward, but like Brewster there is a significant risk to go with that outlay.
Disagree he saved Plymouth from relegation at Championship level ask any Argyle fan and they will tell you the same

He's had 2 bad injuries in his short career
Might be one to avoid
If you offered me a marginally worse GK who could reliably play 46 games then I'd take it

We've already invested quite heavily in a player with knee injury history. It would probably be prudent not to do so with another

He came back from injury never missed a game after that. Top form ask the Plymouth boys he saved them from going down
He was on the bench three times in March. My Plymouth mate at the time said he was struggling a bit post-injury.

I suspect that small fees, frees and loans are the remit under which CW has to work with, with the caveat that most incoming funds from transfer fees for outbound players cam be used to bring on players. Seemingly with the exception of the Bogle money which is being used to cover running costs for this season which is fair enough. You have to pay your bills otherwise you get fines and point deductions...

So, Beni Traore out the door early next week, incoming monies used to bring in Harrison Burrows next week on a fee.

I would also imagine that in an ideal world, Souza, Anel and Grbic would also have been sold for reasonable fees and just the Souza fee alone would probably have covered off the running costs shortfall and probably the added money to the transfer pot. Unfortunately it's not an ideal world and with Souza still here we are fishing in the small fees and frees pond. Souza goes (and/or Anel) and suddenly (now that the Bogle money has been banked) we are fishing in a different pond and larger fees could be paid. Basically we need Souza's agent to get a move fixed up for him quickly or the takeover to go through.

According to Wilder we are only doing small fee's, free's and loans.

But Jimmy '5 bellies' Ramble is talking to the the Prince today apparently, does this mean he and the Girona Corbyn are going to break some big news?

It’s always in the club’s best interest for Wilder to say that and it probably is the truth. But I’ll never 100% believe a manager’s comments regarding transfer budget because it would be stupid to let it be known that the budget is large.

In recent years we have have managers come out and say frees and loans...and that's exactly what we did!

The players that are public are decent to good players. Is it beyond imagination these are squad/backup players? The starters before the feast that a takeover will bring.

Time to get positive Blades, there is a tekkova and the people investing are not coming to lose a lot of dosh imo

^^^^^^^^^^ Bang on, I don’t go to buy a car and tell the salesman I’ve got 40 grand to spend, I tell him I’m exploring the possibility of buying a dream car but funds are going to be a limiting factor

I remember the Plymouth FA Cup game a few years ago. Cooper was great so at least weve seen him first hand so to speak.
