Top half of the pitch all of a sudden is actually looking better than expected, if we are as close to Moore and O'Hare as is believed and going to 4-2-3-1 as Wilder hinted post match.

As mentioned in the York thread, I know many have pencilled Shackleton in as a right back, but he has played plenty in midfield in his career and think he would be the perfect double pivot to complement Arblaster

Back line and keeper still needs sorting tho.

Think this is a good way too look at it.

Be interesting if you added everyone on like Brewster. Then Souza as well with Shackleton etc. So can see a real shape building.

But agree it’s starting to take shape. You change Vini for Shackleton and all of a sudden we are a big side. 3 big lads who are good in the air Osula / Vini / Moore with defenders would make us competitive in they department which is something I have been worried about.

Not counting any chickens about Hamer staying, O’Hare or Moore coming. But if they become reality, it’s a really good front line for the championship.

Yep all the dice have to fall our way.. but the basis is at least there for a very good front line.

I think if we can resign bbd , up front is complete
If as is thought elsewhere on this forum Burrows is done 🙏 lhs is sorted rhs should be with Bogle plus perm one from 3 others, we need 2 centre halves and a keeper and I'd say top 6 is not out of the question 😉

The back 4 with Burrows, Worral as maybes and Bogle and Trusty as should be's. Which leaves us with a top keeper needed. I haven't heard anything recently on the keeper front, worrying if Davies is our number 1.

My hopes are top 2 ....however.....the next few weeks are vital for that to happen.

Line up once the window shuts with something along the lines of:

New Keeper
Bogle
Worrall
Robinson
Burrows
New CDM/CM (unsure who, not seen anyone linked either for this position as of now)
Arblaster
New LW (Brereton Diaz ((I wish!) or Millar)
Hamer
O'Hare
Moore

Having Shackleton on board already will be useful too, providing he stays injury free with him being heavily rotated in, in for Bogle and at CM as and when needed.

To me on paper that is a top 6 starting 11 for our division next season. Squad depth needs a couple more in aswell as those mentioned, which we'll no doubt add soon enough.

I’d add Mcburnie or BBD and Rak Sayki on loan and the forward line I think is complete.

We are a midfielder short too in there.

If Traore plays left wing and Brewster replaces Moore, that's a very small front six.

No thanks. They would get absolutely bullied.

Robbo is going to be there, not bothered about Trusty or Anel, but hoping Worrall replaces one of them.

My outlandish prediction is Peck is our midfield lynchpin by Jan/Feb and him and Arblaster are the engine room which powers us to a top 2 finish!

Even Wilder singled him out for praise. Didn't you think he did well?
Not particularly well no. He ran and tried really hard so would give him praise for that. But on the ball their winger looked better.

I'm not sure if you watched the game or just highlights but not really doing Traore justice there.

He beat 2-3 players multiple times on the left.

Nutmegged their midfield on the right to break away and almost set up a goal.

Played some nice cross field balls to put Brooks into space.

Don't really remember their winger doing anything like that.

Their winger scored

It would certainly be exciting, but to temper expectations, didn't that line up with Hamer and O'Hare get Coventry into the playoffs, and they had Gyokeres too?
A strong start, but it needs work on the left, but there are going to be at least 3 loan spots and you'd suspect one will be used there.

There winger scored mate

Height of that midfield is screaming nigel clough
Put Vini in there and we look more than competitive in the middle. We cannot afford him not to be a starter for us (if he is here). £10m for us and his wages mean we have to play him to keep persevering with him to try and reclaim those funds.

I still believe he is a good player (looking at other teams rumoured to be interested they also see a good player). Its just whether we can rekindle the fight in him which went missing. I think about his interview after Luton away, hes a likeable guy who could really do a job for us.

Luton away he was incredible. If he could put those performances in regularly he would be £20m

I think it's pretty obvious that he doesn't want to be here. At that point it doesn't matter if he's a good player or not. We need to be building a positive atmosphere around the team again. I can only see him and Anel having a negative impact as they both think they're bigger and better than United. Sell them on and invest in players that want to be here and will give 100% each game

absolutely spot on both need to be moved on neither sheffield united players the money for those 2 plus maybe the bogle money might enable us to bring worrall burrows a new keeper and even bbd back to the lane add those 4 to ohare and moore and it will have been a good window for us
