So we’ve been back in preseason training for 10 days now - and we’ve seen virtually nothing from Chris Wilder - he was seen in the ‘first day back blog’ but other than that there’s been no videos or interviews

Does anybody think it’s odd or is it just me?

There would usually be an interview from SUFC talking about being back in training or at least something in the press that isn’t just quotes from what wilder said back in May. I knows he’s probably busy but I do find it strange.

We could make loads of assumptions as to why, but they'd probably all be quite a way off the mark and probably not very productive assumptions to make.

But then we wouldn't have a forum without the gossip.

I've heard he's pooled all of his compo from walking out the back door of clubs over the years, and he is in fact the new owner/bidder. Hence, he can't speak until the deal is done. And also hence, sticking his nose into transfer dealings.

Then he's going to sack himself, and then hire himself as the new owners' preferred manager.

Absolutely, unheard of to be back for a week and a half without anything at all.

Everyone will blame the 'elusive takeover'but it doesn't make any sense at all. You'd have expected a comment about the York game, how's it an opportunity to have a look at some of the youngsters, how Souza has come back more modest than ever and is raring to go, how Anel can't wait to get on the grass and lead us to promotion ( OK so I made the last 2 up) but u get the point

Is he refusing to comment? Are the club preventing him commenting? Or are the Star and Radio Sheffield not bothering to ask for an interview?

I can see something in this, there's so much he can't say, and so much that could change with the takeover, not sure how helpful a Comms message would be.

Agree it is unusual to be zero interviews with him but I suppose it's common sense and good management.

The club is currently and understandably in limbo. So he has nothing to say and can't reveal much about anything.
I can imagine loads of questions and he'd need to reply "no comment", "no comment" etc.

Suspect he knows an interview, at this stage would do more harm than good.

Apparently he's been round at Jebbo's mum and dad's house this past week and a half. They've said Daniel will definitely sign a new contract, but could he give him a lift down to Bournemouth first as the train fares are scandalous.

The overall silence from the club since relegation has been awful. No updates on signings, one crappy pre-season video. We've seemingly not replaced the recruitment team from last season, nor Keith Andrews and there's no news on that.

We're about to play our first pre-season game with only one new face so far and desperately short of players, so we'll end up with academy kids making up the numbers like last season (and idiot fans over-hyping them). It's almost like they've learned nothing from that s**t show.

This club is not doing itself any favours with repairing the damage caused to it's relationship with the fans last season, and the silence is starting to become insulting now.

All part of the masterplan to hammer Wednesday again. Wilder joined at a time of pigs gloating, mind the gap, laughing at us, asking questions about our squad and if it could handle the big bad Chanpionship la liga.

He is now feeding them the same delusions of lofty grandeur, suck them in..

It’s odd but given the circumstances of his position, it’s not that odd. He’s clearly just getting on with the job in the interim
