[Confirmed] Jose Baxter signs - 3 year contract

Just seen on an Oldham forum, somebody posted yesterday that he has heard Baxter is on his way to the Blades for £150k. Be suprised if this happens and especially for such a low fee.

Reckon David Weir could be playing a trump card here. Obviously knows him from Everton. Let's hope Carsley plays one on Wilson from Cov too

IF those two players were to sign that would go a long way to helping our side become more dangerous in the final third, and as you said with regards to Weir and Baxter both will know each other from Everton likewise Carsley & Wilson from their time @ Coventry.

Jesus, it's just over an hr away. Unless he's going to moonwalk it with a fridge on his back then it's not far.

You'd also expect any new signings to move to the city with their partners and families once they're settled

Why would he need to move. Liverpool is 1.5hrs away. I'm sure he can drag his sorry little arse out of bed at 8am to be at training for 10am.

Kind of fits in with what I was told several days ago - That 2 players we were looking to sign had worked with Weir/Carsley previously. However I was told this would happen very quickly (over 10 days ago since I was told this).

He has also been heavily linked with Donny and Dikov obviously knows him from his time at Oldham.

If there is any truth in us being linked then lets hope Jose got on better with Weir than he did with Dikov..otherwise, it's a no-brainer with Donny being a bigger club and all these days...

Manager confirms interest in Jose

As the end to the transfer window looms, Lee Johnson has confirmed that Jose Baxter (pictured) is a wanted man.

"We have had an approach and some interest in Jose and we have to decide whether or not it is right for the club," explained Latics' manager.

Johnson added that there are many things to discuss before a decision is made.

He said: "We have to decide whether it is right for all parties, whether we can replace him, does he want to go or stay and all sorts of things will be going on in the next two or three days.

"It may not happen and I would say it is very much 50/50 at the moment.

"Jose is a great player and we don't want to lose him. I am sure whether it is here or elsewhere he will go on and do well in football because he is a good lad."

I'd say less fair play as get real. However crap we might be right now, we're still a big jump up from Oldham who even with Baxter only just avoided relegation last season and most likely will do nowt this season either.
