Jesus, it's just over an hr away. Unless he's going to moonwalk it with a fridge on his back then it's not far.As i've said in another thread on here, he'd have absolutely no interest in joining us, he doesn't want to be too far away from Liverpool, where he lives with his girlfriend, who is my mates sister.

Ive said for ages that he is the type of player we need to be targeting?
Why didnt we go for him when he left Everton?
Kind of fits in with what I was told several days ago - That 2 players we were looking to sign had worked with Weir/Carsley previously. However I was told this would happen very quickly (over 10 days ago since I was told this).IF those two players were to sign that would go a long way to helping our side become more dangerous in the final third, and as you said with regards to Weir and Baxter both will know each other from Everton likewise Carsley & Wilson from their time @ Coventry.
Manager confirms interest in Jose
As the end to the transfer window looms, Lee Johnson has confirmed that Jose Baxter (pictured) is a wanted man.
"We have had an approach and some interest in Jose and we have to decide whether or not it is right for the club," explained Latics' manager.
Johnson added that there are many things to discuss before a decision is made.
He said: "We have to decide whether it is right for all parties, whether we can replace him, does he want to go or stay and all sorts of things will be going on in the next two or three days.
"It may not happen and I would say it is very much 50/50 at the moment.
"Jose is a great player and we don't want to lose him. I am sure whether it is here or elsewhere he will go on and do well in football because he is a good lad."

Their message board posters are a bit different to some of the 'I hate my club' brigade who post on here. A lot of them seem to genuinely believe that a move from Oldham to Sheffield United would be a sideways one. Fair play to them.
