No no no no no no no no...

another fucking crock from Everton.. NO

Money for Calvert-Lewin from Newcastle via Everton
Money for Jebbo from Everton

All summer signings funded without the Prince lifting a finger.

Legend 😉

Has anyone seen how much Everton value you him at anywhere? And anyone know what our sell on % is?

This deal will also be loaded to fix FFP. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s lowballed and we get next to fuck all.

We’d be better proactively approaching Everton and offering to take the money after the FFP deadline but for a slight mark up.

Not being in a mess is worth more to them, though they could clear it by a fair bit.

You’ve got to expect 30-50m.

That would still give us 4.5m to 7.5m.

That would be a decent chunk to get the recruitment started.

The fee will be small and made up with one or two youngsters but taggart is one to watch

Do we know for sure the sell-on is still active? They don't normally last 8 (!) years.

They typically expire after the first contract and he's signed at least four new deals while he's been at Everton.

All depends on the wording in the agreement. They may have been a timebound element to it (but Utd would have been daft to agree to that), or Everton may have sought to settle with Utd at some point, although again, unless the offer was too good to turn down or Utd needed the money so badly at the time (always a possibility!), I'd be surprised if that had happened. I'm sure one of the super sleuths at the Sheffield Star would have flagged it if it had.

They got him very cheaply ! No point in having an expiry date .We should get a return if he goes to toon.

Reading the above article, it seems the fees will be inflated.

That means they can bank a sale now and then offset the purchase over the length of the contract creating some PSR fiddle.

But if we do still hold a percentage, then that would work on our favour.

The higher the fee the more we get. So I guess they need to weigh that up agains the contribution to PSR that they need.

Totally agree, just never known one to be active for this long.
I don’t think it is any different to the deal we had with Spurs for Kyle Walker. He left in 2009 and then moved to MC at least 8 years later and the sell-on clause we agreed had to be honoured. As others have said, the devil is in the detail of the contract but the passing of time should not be of relevance.

Apparently Man U now showing an interest, assume the prices has gone up.

West Ham are short of a centre forward for the foreseeable future, maybe even played his last game.
