I think more likely (and slightly depressingly) the money is already spent. It's not like we run at a profit.
This is the first big test of the new Winter/Weir regime. If they fail to reinvest and reinvest well all the optimism created over the Summer will quickly evaporate along with the crowds and any hope of promotion.
KM one goal all last season and very few assists why are fans getting so upset FFS ? As long as the fee is invested in the team wisely KM will be soon forgotten.
You're right in what you're saying but the new style of play and formation made him look 10 times better than last season.
And sheffielder - if McCabe comes out and says, he's our best player so we offered him £10k a week when lets say the others are earning £4k do you think that's good for the squad? Is that gonna increase squad morale?

I wasn't questioning KM's footballing ability he has bags of talent, I do question his attitude though, he had a habit of going missing in games and was shit defensively, really a bit of a luxury player. Sadly SUFC are in no position to be able to afford the luxury players just now. KMc has a over inflated opinion of himself but very little heart or desire to be a top player, he reminds me a lot of Martin Smith who we had years back plenty of talent but always looking to screw the club for higher wages (why the fook would anyone want to move to Huddersfield other than for the cash), he never stayed anywhere too long and never made a top player KM will go the same way by chasing the dollar.
If you look very close, its a squirrel caught by the nuts.............. A lot like us really.
So with our usual sale out of the way early does that mean we won't have to sell anymore until the January window.
What's not good for morale is we sell our best players to a rival and don't replace him properly. I have never mentioned how much we offered McDonald, however that we have received a significant fee and that money is going to bring in a couple of players who will improve the team. Not replacing him with players needed to benefit the team overall will be bad for team morale as teams to like to win. It doesn't sound like you have much experience of team sports to be fair Matt.
If you read my other posts you will see that I was saying it was probably unwise and undeserved to make McDonald a hefty payrise as a, he's hasn't done anything to deserve one and b, it will go out of our new model. You will have to point out a post where I have said we should come out and tell everyone we have offered McDonald whatever.
Over to you
Well I've played football atleast once a week since u/10s. I'm 30 next so you're probably right. I don't have much experience.
You were insinuating that McCabe/SUFC should've announced publicly how hard they tried to keep him I.e. how much he was offered to stay. My point is that if half the team are on 50% less then that's not good for morale is it?
And no we haven't replaced him. He left the club about 15hours ago.
"You know"

Paul Walker interview with KMac today in an Audioboo
Aparently the decision for him was not financial - it's more to do with chances of promotion and ambition (we all know the two go hand in hand though Kev, feller) and after two attempts with us it was time to move.
He knew about the interest from Wolves at the beginning of the Summer (but was pleased to be the fulcrum of the set-up in Weir's team building prior to kick off)
He would be surprised if the Blades were not there or thereabouts in the promotion race at the end of the season (he's more optimistic than most of us lot then - Pinchy aside)
Anyway here is a link to the interview and you can make your own mind up.

Load of bollocks KMac at least be honest and say the Wolves contract was too good to turn down
Not motivated by money? Yeah, right.
If he knew about Wolves' interest before the start of the season I wonder if he bothered to tell his manager, who was changing the formation around him as the focal point.
No loyalty in football anymore.
