So has he gone or not? He's obviously had his medical at wolves has pen been put to paper or has weir chained him to the radiator?

The press said he had asked for 24 hours to think it over with the Star, I think it was, saying we were making a counter offer. Obviously that time is up now so I would imagine we'll hear something tomorrow. Fingers crossed he tells them he's happy here.

Lets hope if he does stay then we get the contract re done to remove the release clause or we will be going through this again very soon if he performs.

He's gone. Move on. Who was the last footballer to turn someone down as they were happy where they were? I seriously can't think of one. If he's had a medical he clearly has his mind set.

Surely the medical comes after all parties are agreed. I.e. Us with Wolves' offer (out of our hands). McD with Wolves' offer. Then medical.

You wouldn't have a medical THEN go for contract discussions.. He's gone

I'll eat my hat if he stays. What would you do?? Your current employers are potless , your potential new ones are minted! Will he play regularly?? Who knows. Probably not IMO. But whatever the circumstances, money talks!! Let's move on. :)

i would be amazed if he stays, we're in trouble unless we get a good replacement and find some goals from somewhere, even poxy cov scored 5 today!

Just had a quick look on Twitter for anything at all about the situation, couple of interesting stories.
The transfer and rumours crap is reporting McDonald has turned down Wolves to sign a new contract with us... A couple of Wolves fans/reporters (who knows) suggesting Wolves have agreed a 2-year deal with McDonald. And then a whole bunch of Wolves and Blades fans claiming he's leaving or he's staying. Oh and a couple of Blades fans saying they've seen McDonald and Flynn somewhere in Sheffield in a bar or something, the last supper?

From what I've heard this is highly unlikely to have happened

But what if he didn't pass the medical?

Ha. The odds that he re-signs for us and then reverts to being shite? :(

McDonald's "shite" is still a hundred times better than anything we could expect to replace him with. At least even when he's having an off day he can hold a couple of players off and retain possession, where otherwise it would be straight back to the opposition.

He is our outlet. The only player in the team that the others are comfortable passing it to, even if he has a player or two on him, knowing that nine times out of 10 he won't lose it.

I know, I know, I wasn't being entirely serious. It's just all the drama thats gone on over the past few days: it would feel like a massive victory for him to stay with us now, but even that guarentees nowt.

Oh I know what you mean. It's always the same. Player gets new contract, player gets complacent. Same happened to Doyle. He was great before he signed his contract extension and that wasn't even an improved deal to ward off other clubs.

Unfortunately, though, a poor performance by McD standards is better than a top performance from some unknown non-leaguer we'd be likely to get instead.

Read the club statement and yes, fair comment about the openness etc. and Sitwell made a valid point about lots of players having this contract clause, but FFS, Wolves! same division, possible rivals for going up, just what do the club expect the fans to make of this.

It's the Jackett link. If KJ had money at whatever club he was at he would have probably come after him

James Shields reporting on Twitter that McDonald's off to Wolves to complete the second part of his medical... So yeah he's pissed off out of the club I presume

I'd me amazed if he doesn't. The guy is the most gifted CM in the division by a country mile, and really shouldn't be in League 1 on talent alone. I aren't surprised he's gone/going, I am surprised it's to another League 1 team though.

This is getting like one of those theatrical uber-pauses in reality shows.

Really? It's taken some doing to have had such a shit midfield for the last 3 seasons then. He's very good at what he's good at, and very limited at what he isn't. I'm not up on individual players from the rest of the division, but I've regularly seen our midfield, containing "the most gifted CM in the division by a country mile" outplayed by other 3rd division midfields.

As much as I like his style, if he wants to go, which he obviously does, then fuck him off. It's pointless having someone at the club who doesn't want to be there. If he wants to stay then fine

I agree.
Have a look at wolves web site there confident he will sign by the middle of the week

To be fair fella, every player wants to go, if offered significantly more money.
