after season we’ve had I remained optimistic thought the board an wilder would get it right but this transfer has just done me you can just see what sort of summer and transfer window it’s going to be I really do fear the worst we all know this keeper should have been first one in on the list the rebuild starts at the back an we’ve just lost out on a very good keeper for next to nowt 900k a team coming down from the prem can’t afford 900k an the wages to Stoke who have only just missed out on relegation let that sink in wear in for a very tough summer this is the first player we’ve missed out on they will be a handful more over the next few weeks

I’ve not seen any outlet say Wilder wants him. I’ve seen lots of fans say they want him.
Also Stoke are one of the consistent backed sides in the league. When it comes to wages they can comfortably outbid us, especially when we can only really offer a 2 or at most 3 year deal.
I still find it surprising that fans still believe we could out muscle Stoke on a single deal given how many we need to bring in.

Disappointing if he does go to Stoke because he was the keeper I wanted (at that price) and thought we could get it done early in the window for once, given his contract position and club he’s coming from.

But being linked doesnt necrssarily mean he is CW's first choice and quite likley that, with the player being with a local team,it seemed an easy fit. I think we all agree we need a good standard 1st choice keeper.

He's not awful, awful. But not what I'd want to see as the a solid GK to base on. Wouldn't mind him as a backup, like Leicester have had.

In a way his recent career isn't too dissimilar to Grbic's. When we signed Ivo, I was concerned that for a lad who is 28 he wasn't/hadn't been playing much at all in the past 5 seasons, how do you judge a form/quality on this?

If Johannson is going to Stoke I won't lose too much sleep over it. Whilst he might be a good signing it's not like clubs are falling over themselves to get him either.

A bullet dodged? What planet are you on? He's statistically one of the best in the league and without him Rotherham would've gone down last season anyway.
I don't care about his ceiling, I care about having one of the best keepers in the league next season for a pittance, which he is.
