Luke Faxon and Jay Tinsdale

Haven't seen much of Faxon to get excited about yet but it's very difficult with keepers until they've matured a bit.

Tinsdale, after a slow start, looks to be progressing nicely and has impressed in the last few times I've watched them.

Only seen a bit but amazingly confident with his feet.

It also seems to be very difficult with keepers who should be in their prime at the moment 🤣
 



Big step for Faxon being in the matchday squad last Saturday. Made me think about what a big pressure it would be if he’d had to come on. As a young forward like One etc. you can sort of blend in and be anonymous if you’re a making a debut at a young age, but if you’re a keeper coming on in front of 27000 and you make one error, you’re probably immediately costing the team points. It’s a big pressure to carry at 19 (or maybe 20 now?) if he does have to come on.

Thought much the same myself and our fans haven’t exactly got behind young keepers who’ve not made the best start in the recent past. I suppose the alternative is they end up like Dewhurst or Eastwood and just float around in the U23s then on loan forever.

Like poor George Long. Terrible abuse from the moronic element in our club. Sure he made some howlers but the abuse he took as a young lad was awful.
Glad he's gone on to be a good reliable keeper.

Cooper will be difficult to hold on to. Early days, but he looks like a future international, more so than Ramsdale, and I assume the big clubs have noticed. So good to have Faxon coming through. He is a modern type with great composure and passing ability.

I'm not sure he has. Not a very good keeper TBF, although I don't know why anyone would abuse their own players.

Absolute proof that 100% part time blade is not a pig fan in disguise.....if he was, he would have said "in front of 30000" 😀

One of the more successful academy graduates. Been a championship squad player at least for quite some time.

Faxon was only on the bench as Davies was injured not because he's leapfrogged him yet.

A lad who I played football with in my teens (quality keeper, played England under 18's) dominated at every level, confident bordering on cocky, already lined up to be a pro, came on at half time in one pre season friendly (big ground, decent crowd) was fucking terrible, cost a few goals, his head completely went and he never made it.

Not trying to shit up Faxon, just aye you're right, it's a lot and not everyone by any means can hack it.

Yes Bergen big clubs were looking at Faxon ! Weve tied him down to a long contract.If your right about Cooper and I agree potentially he's good enough for england .Faxon will fit in comfortably if he continues to improve .

..including passing to the opposition on Saturday ? He looks good but let’s not go over the top with him, Blaster or Peck.

Henderson and Ramsdale have done really well and just made a few international appearances. With one keeper slot not much rotation/injuries compared to other positions it's really difficult to get a cap there

Given Faxon was warming up pre-match and was on the bench, I'm guessing that other keeper warming up pre-match was Molyneux.
