Constantly voted one of the best or no.1 best city in the world for a reason.
I don’t get this hating on London or the south.
Youngster earning £4m a year, so £2m net (?), could have an unreal lifestyle in London.

Earning similar in the south of France sounds better to me especially when he's already lived in London in his youth he's probably over it.Youngster earning £4m a year, so £2m net (?), could have an unreal lifestyle in London.
You don't hear of many players at London clubs being desperate to get away.
While I'd personally prefer to live / play in a warmer climate, I'd choose to live in London over any other major city in the UK if I were in my twenties and earning £millions / year and I hate to say it but Sheffield would be somewhere near the bottom of my list.
Just taking Premier League club's locations, Sheffield would be above Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Burnley, Newcastle and Luton on my list. Not that it matters, because all of those clubs (with the exception of Luton probably) can attract better players than us just because they have a lot more money.

Fair enough GB - it takes all sorts.I wouldn’t.
As a pro footballer he’s busy most days and is required to travel to training etc. Travel for someone famous in London isn’t easy. Roads too busy to move, and not safe for them on public transport.
Paying a bomb for a small house means you cannot make it secure for yourself and your family as well as you might elsewhere.
Earning millions in London may make it easier to spend, but unless you’re spending it on fine dining there’s nothing in London you cannot get anywhere else.
Even services, if you want a specific company to say do your kitchen, they’d have no issue travelling with the cost covered in their bill.
London would be the last place I’d be living, I’d much prefer to travel there for the odd occasion and live where the air is fresh, the people friendly, and I can go about my business with much less hassle and threat back to my huge house with a decent amount of land to separate me from the media and intruders.
And BBC threeSenegal Vs Ivory Coast on Sky at 8pm today for anyone who is interested. Apologies if already posted, i couldn't be bothered to check.
Ffs the poor little/big bastardsI wouldn’t.

The priorities of an 18-30 with shitloads of cash won’t be fresh air. They’ll want to be where the action is (nightlife, shopping, culture, buzz, etc) which is London. It’s a playground for someone with that level of income.
"Sheffield United may be in the need of goals this season, but it’s hard to imagine them regretting such a sale with him getting so much criticism for his season in France."
It's really interesting to see the parallels between Illi and our signings this year. They think he's wank and we thought he was our best player ever. Sometimes the best signings on paper don't work out for whatever reason, doesn't mean that the signings were bad or recruitment was poor. Sometimes it's hard to nail down why but it just doesn't work. That's life.Quality player, they must be mad.

I just hope our fans don't spend too much time this year souring our relationships with these players because I reckon we could have some cracking players at Championship level if we give them the support they need.
Yes spot on ,if he had stopped in sheff I am sure our season would have looked better than it looks now and we would have had a asset worth a lot more than he went for . I am sure he would have lit up the prem with us ,weather he would have stopped with us after this season i don't know . The deal fucked everything up including his career ,our season and the the french club wishing they had not bothered .So no winners but i must admit i feel a bit smug regarding the frenchies when thinking how they went about the deal and how ruthless they were .A move he pushed for.
A move their President was happy to blackmail him into.
A move that hasn’t worked out for either this season.
He could have been Star Man at our place and probably would have helped us get more points and surprised a few teams.
As it is, he’s messed up our season and in doing so messed up his career to a degree as well.
What a waste all-round.

I dont understand how Caicedo was ever worth 100m after two seasons.Sounds like a similar story to Moises Caicedo, best part of £100m and looks more like a £20m player for Chelsea, yes they are turning into a proper basket case and it’s wonderful to see but the quality dip is night and day, some times it’s the wrong move
I wouldn’t expect us to get promoted again in the near future… or even the far future…..Another season at Marseilles then our marquee signing when we get promoted again.
Don't @ me.
See nixon saying again that Palace are making him there no.1 target in the summer
