Sack Wilder

We need to stick with him into next year
Going through two managers suggests maybe they aren't the problem. I think we've got a decent squad for next year with some youngsters coming out though but it's clear we're not good enough atm
Personally I would look at McKenna at Ipswich, think they’ve run out of energy but very well coached
If they don’t go up this season, surely with parachute payments and 30k crowds, managing us is a step up?

We need to think longing term and not the next 10 games or reminisce about connection to Blades

I’d take him like a shot but think he might get more attractive offers. His stock is sky high. I think Liam Rosenior is more realistic, and I’d be happy with that.

The only reason he came back was because we were a busted flush, pretty much the same as him after the first prem season.

Don't see how he turns us round next season. We need a whole clear out, players, manager and board or we've nowt to come next season.

I hear the Owner ( formerly known as Prince) has a man who is the " Keeper of the Prince's Stools " . Will he do.?

(Replying to the question who will polish a Turd.)

Wilder needs to do some explaining too

The fighting ‘get in their faces’ spine of our team is
Robbo
Hamer
McB

Dropping all 3 was like giving Villa freedom of the pitch, literally
He gave them freedom of the pitch with 5 defenders and 3 midfielders. Never changed it except for personnel. As bad a managerial performance as you will ever see.

I'm a wilder backer but I was surprised by tonight's line up.

I did not think Holgate should have jumped straight into starting. Surely he doesn't yet know enough about us.

Robinson is arguably our better performing defender, so for him to make way is a bit perplexing.

Osula and this isn't a crit on him, he's still raw. Archer has far more goals to his name to date in his career and looks more like scoring generally.
I can understand if it's for pace up top but I don't think we always need that.

Lastly Hamer splits opinion sometimes but he has to be in the line up.

Not gonna go too hard on RND, but he's not quite up to speed.

For me our starting line up should have been.

Wes,
Bogle, Anel, Robbo, Trusty, RND
Hamer, Souza,
McAtee
Archer, BBD
Robinson should have started along with Hamer,as you rightly point out,but i would have had Bogle,Holgate,Anel,Robbo,Trusty, which was how it was towards the end of the second half.

Just watched Wilders interview.

Pretty humble about it. He got it wrong the players got it wrong and it was poor.

That for me is at least a good sign. No trying to paper over anything.

When we had the 8-0 loss to Newcastle. The thing that grated on me was that Hecky said "these things happen". Which he is right they do but still...

Hecky had a poor hand and Wilders been given that hand too.

Thing that really annoys me with Wilder is he simply accepts no responsibility, he either throws his own player under the bus or its because the ref team were eating a sandwich. Take responsibility for your own shortcomings.

Watch his post match. He doesn't shirk blame. Not for today anyway.

I imagine he's as embarrassed as we are, I don't think this is quite going how he imagined.

I couldnt care less who he’s blaming, even if that is himself or whether he’s embarrassed. He’s paid big money to fix it. Do the talking on the pitch with results and performances. Post match interviews are irrelevant.

Club will never progress whilst looking backwards.

Returning to Wilder

Returning to 3-5-2

The whole DNA needs changing.

Managers, formation, recruitment team.. and finally owner.

Most of the latter portion of the match we were 5 3 2 and the 3 were all in a 10 yard line. Acres of space on each flank.
Baffling!

I was replying to somebody who mentioned him taking responsibility. Post match would seem a relevant place for that.

Crack on though lad. Can you do it without actually saying owt to me though preferably.

The bloke is completely out of his depth. Players aren’t playing for him and his tactics are clueless. Sack him tonight
Yeah let's turn into Wednesday and sack a manager every time things get rough, it's clearly worked well for them. You seriously think Wilder is the problem and not our rogue Prince?

I am all for giving managers time when they are the correct appointment. However, this was a just a desperate gamble and the board were just hoping he could find some sort magic to keep us up. I’d say seeing as the gamble has failed we’d be better to cut our losses and prepare for next season with a manager who can take us forward.

That's not true really. He's been brought in because last time our squad needed a complete overhaul (remember Adkins) Wilder made a great fist of it and we had our best 3 or 4 seasons in recent memory. Will he do it again? I bloody hope so, but we're going to suffer a while yet before a rebuild can get under way. Prince didn't trust Hecky to do it. CW is very experienced in wheeling and dealing and building teams that win games. Let's hope he re-finds his mojo...

And that's the mentality that's got us into this cul de sac... Stop picking players, managers, coaches based on character and personality, and use data analytics like every other fucking team does. I want players who are athletes who can play, not ones who kiss the badge and run about a lot ...
Yes, but they're an "honest bunch of players"

I now hate that pathetic statement to cover a lack of skill of the players, especially at PL level.

We really really are a sad football club at the moment, bar the supporters who live and breathe the Club whatever league we find ourselves.

UTB.
