Deluded Steve Cooper

We’re obviously not where we want to be, and we’re obviously coming up short. We’re also obviously not creating enough. Don’t think overall you could say we Forest “dominated” us. Here’s some more stats.

I think it’s fine to say that Forest “shaded” it, and in terms of chances, probably deserved it slightly more than us, but that’s about it.

That’s not to say we shouldn’t be worried, just “dominated” is the wrong word for yesterday.
Not a domination, but probably deserved it in the end. Forest like Palace could be fighting for one of the relegation spots in 2024?

For an away team who could have easily lost the game in the first 20 minutes…I’m happy with those stats.

Hitting channels - did you actually watch the whole of the Palace game that was our only tactic due to an inexperienced front two and it didn’t work at all
Forest
They bossed the first 20 we grew into the game and took control for the first 25 of the second half
Unfortunately our tweaking was introducing kids to replace a kid and Souza (massive loss) Toure who was also very good
The last 20 mins it was 8 against eleven (no disrespect to our young uns)
Gibbs White was completely frozen out second half
Perspective against Palace we looked terrible
Friday night we looked ok and very impressive in the middle of the pitch
We'll never know for sure of course, but the key for me was Souza having to be subbed due to injury/cramp. After the first 20 minutes or so we looked good. Midfield got a firm grip - it's handy having a big 6 foot two, fast and skilful bruiser in there since a very very long time ago. They had to try and play away from him.
His presence alone gives Norwood more space and therefore time, he played well last night.
Not forgetting Hamer of course, maybe set to be one of our best signings ever. Dare I say the midfield looks pretty good.
Hopefully we'll get the forward line sorted, although our so called 5th and 6th choice strikers had good games considering their youth and inexperience.

So good blocks from defenders and poor shooting from the 4th worst team in the league is your argument that we didn’t get dominated.

We are a million miles away and no one seems to see it. I hope I’m wrong but right now teams are turning up for large parts against us in 2nd gear and controlling large parts of the game.

16 attempts on goal is good then? In your opinion?
The only reason I don't think you are fallowfield is you haven't said 'Hecky out'.

Well, not yet.

Cooper is a jeb end. They had a better side before they spent £200m

With the signing of Traore and more defensive minded midfielders I’d hazard a guess at “being dominated” is out game plan for the season absorb pressure and utilise the counter attack

Ah well. At least I don’t have to wake up and look like Steve Cooper.

Small mercies.

"We really took the game to try to win it. Of course we were by far the better team, of course we deserved to win, but I really liked the attitude of the team in terms of getting the result late on."

"We played the real football in the game, the real tactical ideas. In the end, we've scored two really good goals,"

You weren't by far the better team, also look at our forward line, you should have smashed us easily. But didn't.

They’re fans are up there with the Grunters when it comes to neediness. John Merrick Jnr has to pander to them.

It’s amazing me how everyone isn’t seemingly seeing the obvious.

We have played the 2 poorest sides and been dominated. We are falling short against the lower standard of the league. When we come up against a Newcastle / Villa etc we will be a million miles away.

Did Palace finish 11th out of 20?

I really like Birtles as a co comm. He calls it like it is and is not obsessed with the style of football. He was praising us for the long balls today and encouraging Forest to do the same even critisising them when they didn't go long.
He comms like he used to play. Plays/says what's in front of him and apologies when he gets it wrong.
Cooper on the other hand is very deluded as are the "fans" on here saying we were dominated. I watched the Palace game (getting up at 2am) and barely moved in my seat the whole 90 mins. I was on my feet for virtually the whole of the 2nd half today with neighbours complaing about the language when the goal went in. Also have a dirty great coffee stain on the carpet from when Hamer curled it home and i got too excited.

Much more hopeful after last night. At least for some entertainment.

Resorting to calling him ‘ugly’ again I see. Bit pathetic. Good manager, if Hecky hadn’t done such a good job I’d have him here in a heartbeat.

What if he identifies himself as ugly? Is it allowed?

Agree with that. Souza was really putting his stamp on the game and that was encouraging, when he gets match fit he'll be a big player for us in more ways than one. Nowt against Bash but when he came on it looked like we had a flat back six and we couldn't get over the half way line.

Forest, for all the money they've spent are a very poor team. Not really sure what style they're trying to play, a bit big boot, a fair bit of falling down, crosses into the box and crowding the keeper at corners. All a bit messy really and if we could defend they could have played all night and still wouldn't have scored.

Comments of a manager trying to convince the masses that he’s still the right man for the job. Under pressure and he knows it.

After buying 1 in 3 professional footballers his tactical genius managed to narrowly beat a newly promoted and severely undercooked team.

That's how I took the comments. It sounds exactly like a guy selling you something.

Palace will get a battering today against Arsenal and they’ll be well down. They don’t score enough goals last season without Zaha it’ll be less.

They’ll be similar to Nottingham struggling towards the bottom.
Guess what....Palace didn't get a battering today, ignoramus

If by masses you mean marinakis then maybe.

We were very naive last year and found by the end of the season an effective way of capitalising more on mistakes and being more effective on the break.

Having relied on radio commentary and video highlights for what I saw i can deduce, we are really missing niakhate and felipe who are a significant upgrade on Worrall and mckenna who appeared nervy for the whole game.

Getting sacked shortly, replaced by Nuno Espirito Santos - so could see Forest being dragged further down with their fans turning against them

Also wouldn't be surprised to see us sniffing around him next season if/when we go down to try and get back up

Who? Cooper? We’ve just got wilder for getting us out of the championship
