If we fail to get up this season how much do you think it'll impact our squad. Off the top of my head, maquire and long spring to mind to be poached but can't really think who else will go

We hopefully will lose Maguire (overrated and a liability) I think George will be snapped up but may be loaned back for the season. We wont keep Kitson Higgo and Robson.

We need to do similar to what Charlton did and start again. Too many overpaid and under performers at the current time.

Not so sure about Maguire leaving. Do you really think if a team had enquired about him in January he would still be here now?

If we don't go up this season, I'd like to see us sell or release Coyne, Williams, Higginbotham, Collins, Doyle, Porter, Kitson, Robson and Cresswell.

I know that the inclusion of Doyle and Collins in that list is likely to be controversial but from everything we know they're on significant wages for the division without being truly stand-out. I just don't think they bring enough.

In terms of younger players it'd be annoying to lose any of them but if someone came in with £3m+ for Maguire or Long and we reinvested in four or five quick, technically gifted young outfield players then it would be worth it. Targets should include Toumani Diagouraga (Brentford central midfielder, wears 20 but that would be difficult), Nakhi Wells (Bradford centre forward) and Britt Assombalonga (Watford forward on loan at Southend).

Fully agree on the Charlton point. We should have done that at the start of this season.

trouble is if we lose long it will be for buttons. £1m max. hes only just starting out. wont do him much good either sitting on the bench for 5 years. if we keep him and he plays and improves he could easily be worth £8 in 3 years. but thats the mccabe way so he could easily go.

id be stunned if kitson, higginbum, robson and porter werent released whether we go up or not. probably a few others not in the team too.

no idea with cresswell seeing as hes "a coach, its obvious he wont be good enough to play for us next season so who knows how that will be dealt with. maybe he will retire and just coach, or maybe he will leave on his own accord (no doubt with a hefty pay off) and sign for york or summat.

we could be stuck with doyle thanks to that new contract. if we can "sell" him for £0 id bite that clubs hands off.
same goes for mcdonald but id want a fee of around £1m. id sell maguire if we get close to £2m. and use all that on new players (not on mccabes overdraft). i wouldnt sell them for the sake of it though.

if we did all that, we'd probably not be in too bad shape. half a dozen of the current first team, splattering of the current youngsters, 4 or 5 decent signings. its the 4 or 5 signings that concern me though, who can really see us doing that even if we did rake in £3m from selling maguire and mcdonald (or long or whoever)??? be lucky if we spend 50 quid and a bag of monster munch on 2 signings.

kmac will go as well, and probably kitson, higgingarse, the rest should stay

I think if Maguire had pace he'd be in the premiership now. That is all that is holding him back. Unfortunately for him, you can't really develop speed
