Say what you like about Hecky, but one thing he never does is blame others
Did he use that as an excuse or did he answer a direct question?
Agree.......Warnock was full of anger and every excuse under the sun, could be the pitch, the weather but he tended to blame the ref for everything.
Wilder was often just exceptionally angry when we lost and even abrasive (passive aggressive) towards the reporters interviewing him.
I suppose you could call them both very passionate....both were bad losers.....no matter who the opposition was.
Even playing away to Real Madrid you could imagine both Warnock and Wilder fired up, working on a gameplan to win and believing in it.
Where as Hecky is much more of a gentleman, a much nicer man....doesn't directly make excuses or blame anyone, always protects his players.
However he does tend to say we were competitive and played well but just lacked that final bit of quality that PL clubs have.
Appreciate he's trying to make the best of a bad situation but it all seems mild mannered and delusional to me, as our performances are generally really poor, we don't compete and don't ever push enough numbers in the opposition half, so never look threatening at any stage.
The 1st half of the Man Utd game was the exception, we lost but a very positive performance 1st half, we should play like that every home game.
