Is that a good result?

I'm really not sure.

On the one hand, we played a team in great form, scoring goals for fun, unbeaten in 13 and a great home record.

On the other hand, we have lost more ground on the teams above us, and a first half performance to be ashamed of.

Overall, good or bad? Maybe only time will tell.

It's not a terrible result, but it doesn't set us up very well for ru-in.

Automatic promotion is still in our hands, so it's not disastrous. Danny has got to change things though, no point in keeping it tight any more, we need to go out and get goals. Goal difference could cost us on he final day.

It's a terrible result. If we want automatic promotion we need wins, not draws. At the moment we will be lucky to come 3rd. Doncaster has the points and Bournemouth has are on a role (6 wins from 6). These will be the top two teams with Bournemouth taking the title.

No. We may as well forget about automatic promotion. Even with games in hand i just cannot see us getting enough points to scrape second.

It's a good result but feels like a defeat due to the lost ground. If we'd beaten Carlisle then 1-1 @ Walsall would have ended the week nicely

It's a bad result based on our previous results. If we'd beat Carlisle then todays result would be OK but we're at the stage where we need to win games. Teams around us are picking up and we're going the other way. We don't look good enough, we don't look like we're up for it, we look mid table and a play off spot would be a bonus at the moment.

Wonder when I'll get told to stop being negative, be told that we have games in hand and that we'll be OK simply because we're Blades. About time our illustrious players got a grip and showed some bollocks before we end up a laughing stock yet again.

A decent result today, the real damage to our challenge was done in the last few home games. It looks very much like automatic promotion is slipping away yet again, we handed Doncaster the title last week.

In itseslf, a good away point at an in form side. On the whole, it leaves us staring at a play off place and the real prospect I will be hoping we DON'T get to Wembley (ie lose). My emotions are upside down.

UTB

If we chuck Ironside, McFadzean and Whitehouse in and drop Forte, Robson and Doyle, I think we'll do it.

Sadly after all dropped points at home and others at top winning; a draw was barely better than a loss even if it was against an in form team.

We would have been better winning 1 out of the last 2 games than 2 draws. Today wasnt a must win but now makes Tuesday asuch a scanrio. Another failure at the Lane in the week and in my opinion we can completely forget automatic regardless of what points are still left as it will confirm our manager and players cannot raise their games and have enough bottle (against a mid table Crawley side) to finish the job.

We need to get at least 7 points really from the next 3 considering the run ins of Donny and Bournemouth (cant see the latter dropping another point) but my head and heart has us resigned to the playoffs now sadly.

That's the key for me mate, we're an average team in an awful league and the league position has done little but give us a false hope. The last few weeks have highlighted just how average we are. It's up to us now, no one else just us, and if we don't make it then every single one of them should hang their heads in shame. Next season I fear the worst either way, go up and we'll be shite with McCabe at the helm, stay down and we'll be in even bigger shite. Well done Kev, wish I was as big a Blade as you are.

Today was an acceptable result as it still leaves us in charge of our own destiny and probably guarantees play offs. The next three games are now the key. To go up automatically I think we probably have to win all three and that is where the problem lies as we just don't look like scoring never mind winning at home. It will be interesting to see the side selected on Tuesday. Will he start with the two subs who sounded as though they changed the game round today. Will he risk Westlake at RB who will give us a better attacking option down that side although will be a bigger risk from a defensive point of view. However this is Crawley at home and starting with Higginbottham at RB would be very negative in my view. Failure to win on Tuesday will make the results against Swindon and Brentford academic. Put out our most attacking side and go for it Danny please.

It's a pretty good result. The bad result was on Monday against Carlisle.

I've written this season off now. Gillingham next season after they got promoted. Anything other than that is just a bonus.

Agree...still in our hands but 5 wins from six to guarantee autos will be tough. Win the next 3 games is a must.

Just hope DW starts with the team that finished the game today

Given what's gone off this season, I don't expect Muff to win all their games. Tuesday is now the biggest game of the season.

As for the playoffs, I'm up for that. They have nothing to give that I haven't already taken. Bring it on.

Yes it was a good result.

Of course the usual bore mongers will say no. Doom and gloom and all that. How many of the cynics expected a result today? We went to a difficult ground, against a team in form and got a point. We showed character to come back and there were encouraging signs in the 2nd half.

We are 6 points behind Bournemouth, but have 3 extra games to play. At this stage we should be looking to win those, so we are still in a good position. A win on Tuesday and we are 3 points behind them, with 2 games to play and a better goal difference. If Muff win all their games, then it will be very difficult to overtake them, but they might not.

We need to beat Crawley, no excuses. We then need to beat Swindon. We could actually technically lose a game and still finish above Bournemouth (on goals difference).

Our home form is very worrying, but it is still in our hands. Roll on Tuesday.

Fuck me, Olle just posted the same post that he did this time last year. Bore mongers blah blah blah....win on Tuesday blah blah blah, games in hand blah blah blah...in our hands blah blah blah. So remind me, when we fucked up last season what were the excuses? Just like all the other times we were labelled "bore mongers" etc. History proved us right every time so far so come on brainiac, tell me why we should be confident this time and where you'll disappear to if we fuck up again?

Bore mongers? Get a grip, or better still, show me the evidence to suggest that this season won't go the same way as all the others. Nowt more boring than listening to substanceless bullshit, and that's pretty much all your post contains.

Need to grow some bollocks and go for it
Cannot play this negative crap and expect to get the results required

Seems like we are doing the same thing every game but expecting a different result each time.
It's fearful football, it's weak and negative.
We have absolutely nothing to lose now. DW has to use McFadz and drop Robson to give a balanced 4-4-2 that creates chances rather than the turgid bollocks we are experiencing now. Not one shot on target in the first half is a product of the formation as much as the mediocrity of the squad he has available.

Does Wilson have the bollocks to put out an attack minded team or will he do his usual keeping it tight and hope to nick a goal from a set piece ??? Personally I don't think Danny has the bollocks, Ollie can label me a bore monger if he so wishes the law of averages says one day Ollie will get it right. I reckon one more defeat means the play off's for us same if we draw a few, we really should have sacked agent Wilson last December.

I think I agree but I do feel you've fell off your bike without your helmet on and it has brightened your life.

For a team that has no confidence and on a bad run of form for a promotion chasing team then a win was vital. However, this is different to what people expected us to get. Many are realistic in that we knew only a win was needed at this stage but we also knew united wouldn't deliver, like they have failed to do for many years now. The way bournemouth are going (6 wins from the last 6), they will easily win all their last games whilst Doncaster have the points in the bag. For us, I don't know where our next win will come from. We have porter up front who can only score one goal per match which limits to what we can do.

We have wasted the last two season and next season will be just as bad due to having some of the same players on our books i.e Doyle etc. So the question is, do we sack Wilson or let him continue for next season (letting him take all the stick from the fans) and get a new manager for our promotion push in 2014/2015?

You have got to be joking! Keep Wilson and we'll be having exactly the same conversation in 12 months. He should have gone after Wembley.

Keep DW until the end of the season, let him add another 'near miss' to his CV and move on in summer (along with our 'better' players).

Oh, and just so some can shoot this down in flames - get Rob Jones in.

Good result in isolation, but the next 9 days will tell us it's real worth.

The point I was trying to make is that next season is already a write off. We will still have the likes of Doyle, Hill and Collins with very little funds to improve. I was suggesting that we keep Wilson for another year (hate myself for saying this) knowing that our team isn't good enough to be promoted and then sign a proven manager (someone who actually applies for the job and wants it) to take the reins in 2014/2015 when all the 30+ players' contracts have run out and left the club. The decision to give Doyle a 3 year contract just gets more silly every day that passes.
