Wow! Didn't know he was in India. so he would have been born 1929 -30. The old rascal, kept that under his hat.
It's not as if I have forgotten, as I spent some time in the Middle East as a young man and one tends to remember folk who have had the same type of experience.

Born March 1927 but had a 50th birthday party when he was 46! His wife, Joan, was 4 years older but she wanted friends to think that they were the same age!

What a great story, even more so knowing Pete.
Only meet Joan a couple of times if I popped round to theirs with info for work, they certainly seemed good together, not enough of their type, if so the world would be a better place.

I notice three of the players have no badge on their shirts. I have always believed this photo was post the final but that may not be.
Lets suppose it's post, the original is larger. Mercer and Tunstall's legs are visible.
Story I read was Tunstall had cut the badge off the shirt and that's the reason for him not wearing a final match shirt.
Regarding King and Green, I haven't a clue and there was no mention of them in the Tunstall story.

I agree with your sentiments, but how many of those "shoppers" in this day and age would be waiting at home for there Amazon or Ocado deliveries instead of venturing out?
