I can see me being slated for this, but I just can't work out whether Robson has a positive or a negative impact on the team.

On one hand, I love how he always wants the ball and he does very well finding space to be available for a pass, but what he does once he's in possession frustrates the shit out of me. His ball retention today must have been about 5%. He saw so much of the ball yet gave it away nearly every time, either by hanging onto it for far too long, or under hitting his pass. His distribution looks poor. Sadly, his ability doesn't match his vision.

I would have swapped him for Poleon far earlier today because their defence looked wide open a lot of the time, but we only had Murphy running at them looking like exploiting it.

I think he fits in as an away team, but I just don't think he adds anything at home.

Robson is seen as a proper footballer, he is calm o the ball and knows what needs to be done. Unfortunately he usually can't pull off what needs to be done and loses the ball. In a good half of the games I've seen him I he's added nothing and today was one of those games.

One of the big problems is that no-one else shows Robson's desire to find space so he struggles more than anyone else to find a pass when he has the ball. Thought we persevered too long with him of Kitson though

Not seen Robson so can't comment on him but that's an interesting comment Coops. Sort of hanged if you do hanged if you don't with regards to finding space. Dare I say there were occasions when Alex Sabella looked like he had his boots on the wrong feet simply because the other players didn't have half the football brain that he did and couldn't read what he was about to do. Saw it with TC, Alan Woodward towards the end of his career and it's a real difficult one.

In this league it's just another cross to bear, we aren't going to have many brainy players at this level because the standard's so low.

Agree with both of you to a certain extent and remember the same situation in the past was mainly used with Sabella ,but if a player is that good or 'brainy' shouldnt he be able to adapt to the other players ,or is it a cop out for when he makes a bad ball ?

Can't really adapt to other players if they just haven't got it though Sitters. Maybe he should stop finding space, boot it to no one and run out of ideas after 10 minutes which is pretty much what the others do in the home games.

Can you give a valid reason why you have Fred West as an avitar/
No...you can't.
Grow up...and change it.

It is quite rare to see a player who's so eager to play through balls. Within one minute in the second half he attempted three ambitious through balls, none of which reached a United player. He wasted more than those, but some balls were also really good.

Him wanting to be the focal point of all our attacks sees him often drop too deep, leaving the recipient of his pass with few players to link up with. An episode which illustrates his hyperactivity was in the first half when he hadn't had the ball for about 30 seconds he decided to get into Doyle and McDonald's territory and came short to receive a Hill throw in deep in our half. Hill ignored him and threw it long to Kitson and subsequently there were nobody forward to get on the end of his flick.

To get more out of him we have to put him in a wide midfield role, tell him to try and create from wide and further up the pitch. And he needs quick and mobile players to pass to, otherwise his vision will be wasted. A good thing is that I think he looked a bit fitter on Saturday.

Do I have to? It's "avatar".

I guess you can have the avatar you want but, to be honest, I find it offensive and can't understand why anybody would want an avatar of somebody who abducted/kidnapped young women, took them home, tortured and raped them and then cut them into pieces to be buried under their house.

Yes, Robson does look fitter doesn't he and I think to play him alongside Kitson was a mistake.

The avatar came about when somebody asked me to change my previous one, which was Ched's mugshot.

Sheffielder, I believe it was that asked me to change it. As he asked in a more civil manner than Kingston, I happily obliged. The Fred West one was a joke which did receive a couple of "likes", including one from Sheffielder, who asked for the change. I've only posted from my phone or iPad lately so haven't been able to change it, but if somebody had asked me to in a less petulant manner than Kingston, I would gladly have made the effort to log on through my laptop and done so. As it were, Kingston just came across like a child stomping his feet. The irony was he then told me to grow up, which made me chuckle.

If the picture offends people, I will willingly change it later on today when I am on my laptop.

As for Robson, like I said, I really like how he wants the ball, I just wish he wouldn't waste it so often when he gets it.

Can we have peter sutcliffe ?

As an avatar that is not in midfield.

for what its worth i would appreciate not seeing fred west either,

as for robson, he's a decent player i think, really hope he gets fitter and we get the best out of him.

all the best,
gavlar

As you asked nicely, Fred West has been consigned to the history books, replaced by my dog, Baxter.

I don't think Robson is the replacement for McDonald people think he is either. They could work well together with Doyle mopping up behind, but we don't have sufficiently talented wingers or forwards to get away with either just one up front or only three in midfield.

I reckon it would work with Murphy and Forte wide wich would mean we would have the pace to support Kitson and would allow Robson to have a free role. Might make us less solid defensively thou

I've decided to follow your example and change my avatar. I'd had Ched for a while, and i was ready for a bit of a change, so i decided on a drunk bloke who swears a lot.

Come on Brownie, mate, surely you mean "bloke in an advanced state of refreshment who swears a lot".

That is true. Hopefully we'll give it a try at home once everybody's fully fit again. Happy with us keeping it as is away from home though.

You should have been in Ched's legal team. Talk about defending the indefensible.

He's my hero, i want to be like him when i'm 50. He is a more wholesome character than the likes of Fred West!

Stop taking things so seriously FFS. Like Latters said, you sound like a mardy arse.
I just think that it is sad when people don't have a moral compass and think murder is a bit of a laugh.
Could you explain to me how funny Peter Sutcliffe and Fred West are? I must be missing something.

So from the fact that I had a picture of a nasty man next so some posts on an internet forum you have managed to deduce that I have no moral compass?

Please do take your head out of your arse. I do have a strong moral compass and find that comment insulting. I also don't tend to take things on here too seriously, unless somebody makes a personal judgement about me based on very little.

I believe Judge puts it best. Move on.
