Wouldn't have thought so, maybe 70 but 85? I am certain we got 3 goals tho.

We had a decent amount, but we also had periods of giving them far too much time on the ball and also trying to shoot ourselves in the foot (most time when we lost the ball in midfield and they broke).

I'd say it was less than the quoted, but we were comfortably in front on possession.

Its easy to say when you win but the pitch did hold us back today ,a lot of passes were hitting divits and only the really quality players could control it. Robson showed his class ,his first touch is brilliant. Their keeper had a nightmare with the pitch and they still kept backpassing to him oooooeeeerrrrr yay :)

Unsurprisingly not.

Although Colchester's passing was appalling today. Ours was good at times and poor at others, but still miles ahead.

He did indeed, at times in the first half he looked fantastic. There was one particular touch in front of us where he plucked the ball out of the air with the outside of his boot whilst turning on it and spraying the ball over to the opposite wing to Flynn... All the same movement, without needing to think about it in the slightest.

I wondered if we could possibly have 85%, surely an exaggeration? But sounds like we bossed the game.

The pitch is a right state. I love to see us knocking it around, but we're going to get caught out continuously knocking it around the back four. I can see someone at the back miscontrolling due to the divots or the mud and giving a silly goal away. My arse was twitching on more than one occassion yesti.

the pitch will improve over the coming weeks as the groundsman can actually work on it , a few dry days will allow it to be treated and aired properly , be pristine in march
cant beat a nice wire raking and a good forking to let the soil breathe after winter to strengthen the grass roots
my lawn will be getting some of the same in coming weeks, good surfaces dont just happen

Yep, the pitch really hindered us today, and is generally.

UTB

We did have an awful lot of possession. There were times that we were just comfortably passing it amongst ourselves in the middle. I thought Colchester offered very little to be honest, apart from those few long range efforts (all missing by miles) in the first half, that all came in the space of about ten minutes.

The state of the pitch would be even worse if the Crawley game had gone ahead. With our form at the time and the benefit in stopping the pitch deteriorating even more, that postponment looks a godsend.
