Mull of Kintyre?
What the fuck is that all about?
A song featuring bagpipes (which are always fucking awful, let's be reyt!) for a club in the middle of England?
Am I missing summat?

I’ve always had a soft spot for “Goodnight Irene” sung by Bristol Rovers fans. A unique song in amongst the many generic anthems in my opinion.

Don't you mean fuck off Wednesday. bleeding terrible tune, when it comes on the radio I turn it off.
Ark now here United sing the Wednesday run away a way is a good one, we are Blades men super Bladesman from the Lane, Pity Ndiaye has gone but I liked i i ilyilli i liked that one. I wonder if that song will be changed to Archer especially if he starts scoring regularly.

I can remember being stood on kop and us singing "hi ho sheff United...etc" back in early 80's I think.

Sorry, why isn’t “hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday” in there?

Oh that’s right, because it’s a fucking rip off of other clubs singing it patched up as their own because that fan base has zero individuality, humour and innovation to create a song of their own. What a wank existence it must be supporting that lot.
You do realise we nicked GCP off Rotherham don’t you many moons ago. Who nicked it of ST Helen’s rugby teams fans first. That’s the way 99% of all football songs work. Everybody nicks everybody’s songs , tweek em a bit and sings em to suit their clubs. Simple really been happening years n years. I can think of at least 10 other clubs that sing ‘hark now here’ Surely they didn’t all win/lose to their rivals on Boxing Day. Man City always singing it. Tbh all football songs are shit na days in comparison to the 70s/80s imo anyway

The wheelbarrow song at Notts County and Goodnight Irene at Bristol Rovers are unique to their clubs which I like.

Tell me what part of hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday is their own, as in throughout the whole song, not just the SW bit? We MAY have nabbed it off Rotherham but it’s 100% known for being ours due to the innovation we applied to it to make fit our club.

Historically every team played derbys at boxing day, so yea pretty much every team with a local rival in the same town will have played and lost / won at boxing day hence singing it

It's easily the best anthem, is local, and it really does get to your emotions. Edinburgh is a brilliant city too!!
I love the song, but other than the fact that they sing it, it's got nothing to do with Hibs has it? Marks it down, in my view.

Not totally relevant, but though it's a great spectacle too, it's somewhat negated when of the 30,000 who are banging it out, only a fraction of them can be arsed to turn up for the next home game. Very Wendy-esque.

The Proclaimers are known Hibs fans.

The lyrics to 'Joyful Kilmarnock blues', include:

"I'd never been to Ayrshire, I hitched down one Saturday
60 miles to Kilmarnock to see Hibernian play
The day was bright and sunny, but the game I won't relay
And there was no Kilmarnock Bunnet to make me want to stay"

They are Hibs fans, but that's where any connection ends.
