As a regular at Brest in France I thought there staple chant was fantastic, sounds very intimidating when you're in the ground

I have since translated it, ermmmmmmmmm

Here it is Brest!
Here you are a raised Francis
In Finistère at the end of the Earth.
In our shuttle you entered,
In defeat you will taste.
The Red and Whites always winners
Will apply, of course.
All the balloons will end up at the bottom
Under the cries, the ovations.
Brest stadium, 29,
Red and white, play the winner
Brest stadium, 29,
Brest stadium, 29,
Red and white, what talent!
Stade Brest, forward!
You think you hear thunder
But it's Foucauld and the supporters.
Because here at the end of the Earth
Together we will defeat the adversary!
And with such ambition,
The stadium could end up champion
From Italy, Germany or England
We will hear the thunder roar!
Brest stadium, 29,
Red and white, play the winner
Brest stadium, 29,
Brest stadium, 29,
Red and white, yes, what talent!
Stade Brest, forward!

If we are going abroad.

Sunshine on Leith if we widen it to UK
Fantastic - I remember hearing it at the time and it was pretty special.

Definitely one of the best if we talking about U.K. not just England.
One of the best around and deffo brings a lump to the throat. I’m sure it’s been mentioned on previous similar threads but the Argentina fans Maradona v Pele chant is superb - particularly when sang in a Brazilian shopping mall at the World Cup.

The team I follow over here, Bohemians Prague (the Kangaroos), have a great anthem. Doesn't start very inspiring, but gets going at the end 😂

Hey hey, Bohemians hey hey, Bohemians hey hey, Bohemians hey hey, Bohemians hey hey, Goal kangaroo goal, Bohemians we'll score a goal, Then we'll score another, And we'll demolish the stadium...

It sounds much better in reality than when written in English!

They are Hibs fans, but that's where any connection ends.
Same can be said of 90% of the songs in the OP.
But the connection here does exist, fairly well.
Other plus points
It's fucking brilliant.
It gets dust in your eye.
It was written within the last 30 years.

Blue is the colour and Marching on Together we’re both originally part of these cheesy songs clubs used to release when reaching F.A Cup finals in the 70s and 80s, the nadir being the Anfield Rap.
Good football songs should be cheesy.

It’s a bit tenuous, but I always thought when Paul Heston wrote Old red eyes is back, it might be about his love of the Blades…But sadly not.

I loved the Housemartins and early BS but then Paul Heaton 'fell in love' with Italian football, then 'fell in love' with Manchester.

Last thing I can remember, he was giving the club pelters over Ched.

I really don't know how much of a Blade is left in there.

He made quite an issue if being a Blade at tramlines in Swillsborough park, and at the end of the gig we were showered with red and white streamers. 👍😁

Oh dear. a reborn Blade = like a born-again-Christian?

"Where were you,
when we were shit..."
